Quotes always have a way of inspiring you, changing your thinking, or simply putting a smile on your face. I have always been obsessed with quotes and whenever I felt down, I would look up a bunch to lift me up. Here are a few I believe that can bring positivity and light into your life just like it did to me.

1. “Happiness is not found in things you possess, but in what you have the courage to release.” -Nathaniel Hawthorne

Happiness is found in what you put into the world, the love and positivity that will make your heart full. No matter what you may possess, it will never fill what makes your soul happy.

2. “Be curious, not judgemental.” -Walt Whitman

I should even pay more attention to this quote, judging someone should never be an option. You don't know what they are going through or what struggles they face. Who are we to judge them for their actions?

3. "Hold up your head! You were not made for failure, you were made for victory. Go forward with joyful confidence." -George Eliot

Failure is going to happen but let it inspire you instead of bringing you down. Keep marching on.

4. "You do realize that some of the best moments of your life haven't even happened yet, right?" -Lalah Delia

When you feel like your life has been a mess, this quote should reassure you. The storm will pass and the best is yet to come.

5. "When you are joyful when you say yes to life and have fun and project positivity all around you, you become a sun in the center of every constellation, and people want to be near you." -Shannon L. Alder

Being positive every day is near to impossible, but having your majority of days be seen even with a bit more of light can have the biggest impact. Attracting people who have that similar characteristic.

6. "You are the sum total of everything you have ever seen, heard, eaten, smelled, been told, forgot--it's all there. Everything influences each of us, and because of that I try to make sure that my experiences are positive." -Maya Angelou

Everything you experience in your life has made you who you are today. From the decisions you make to the changes you make in yourself, you have the power to make it positive.

7. "To succeed you need to find something to hold on to, something to motivate you, something to inspire you." -Tony Dorsett

Find that passion of yours and stick with it. It may not be approved by others but at the end of the day, you are living your life. Not them. So live it the way you want to live it and don't let others hinder you from your dreams.

8. "If you don't like something change it; if you can't change it, change the way you think about it." -Mary Engelbreit

There are certain cards we are dealt with in life and sometimes they can't be changed, no matter how much you would like them to. When it comes to those matters, you have to see the situation in a different perspective. How could you help someone in the future who may go through that same thing?

9. "Kindness makes you the most beautiful person in the world, no matter what you look like." -Unknown

Kindness comes from the soul. It radiates and spreads to those around like quickfire. It outstands any physical appearance because it comes from your heart.

10. "It's nice to be nice." -Frank Burns

My amazing grandfather used to say this all the time. It holds the truth, being nice is nice. Not only do you feel good being nice to another but you are spreading that positivity effortlessly to another person who can carry that on.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
