It's summer and the one thing that's bad about it is that we find ourselves getting bored, and wishing to go back to college to be with friends and party. But being home for this long isn't all that bad, you just have to find things to keep busy with and on your feet! If you live in the bay area or you're planning on visiting, here are ten places you should visit when you're here. These are the top tourist destinations for Summer 2016!

1. San Francisco Museum of Modern Art

The new SFMOMA recently opened in May 2016 and you visit if you are ever in San Francisco. SFMOMA has amazing art and exhibits that you just can't miss out on!

2. Pace Gallery

The Pace Gallery is located in Palo Alto and it is a new launch of its Pace Art + Technology Program has been a popular destination this summer. The exhibitions are not only a great sight to see but also awesome for a photo op!

3. Golden Gate Bridge

Even if you live in the Bay Area the Golden Gate Bridge is never a place you would get tired of visiting or seeing. Not only is it a staple tourist destination, the view is amazing and it just represents the city of San Francisco.

4. Garden of Eden

The Garden of Eden is a great place to be at this summer. Located in Santa Cruz, you'll find yourself going on a little adventure. There are places where you can lay out in the sand, go swimming, and so much more.

5. Big Sur


Big Sur is a little bit of a stretch from the Bay, but it's worth it. There are so many oceans, views, and state parks to go exploring there.

6. Dolores Park

Another gem of San Francisco. It's a great place to just lay out a blanket, watch the clouds, have a picnic, listen to music, and whatever else you want to do!

7. Fisherman's Wharf

A historical attraction by the heart of the city, a place that's outstanding in the daytime for seafood, views, museums right on the pier, or even watching the sea lions.

8. Lands End


One of the many parks in San Francisco that is great for a daytime hike.

10. Union Square

It's the heart of San Francisco with hundreds of restaurants to eat at and stores to shop at!
