Being a commuter at Rowan's Glassboro campus can be rough. Here are a few #CommuterProbs.
1. Having the luxury of spending $80 per semester to pay for a parking permit.
Because spending thousands of dollars each semester to attend class isn't enough to guarantee you a parking space on campus. Of course, if it did, it would surely guarantee you a parking space in a completely inconvenient parking lot on the opposite side of your class.
2. Missing out on RAH and club meetings that start after 9 p.m.
Waking up for 8 a.m.'s is nearly impossible if you're not going to bed at a timely matter.
3. Spending 30 minutes waiting in a queue for a parking space.
You have two options: Wait for a spot to open and possibly be late to class or arriving to class on time but possibly receiving a ticket for parking "illegally." You know there's a problem when you're equally as worried about there being a parking space than you are about your midterm grade.
4. Driving to Rowan in the snow only to find out halfway there that they've closed campus for the day.
Why Rowan? Why do you wait until the last minute to announce an emergency closing? I PUT ON MY UGLY, YET EFFICIENT SNOW BOATS FOR YOU!
5. Aligning classes for next semester's schedule so you only have to drive to campus 3 times a week MAX.
There is actually a very in-depth process to this madness that only the truly experienced commuter has mastered!
6. Factoring in the time it takes to get ready, drive, and finally find a parking space when setting your morning alarm.
There is so much unnecessary math involved when calculating exactly how long you can sleep-in until it's mathematically impossible for you to get to class on time.
7. Slowly packing on the pounds from Dunkin' Donuts runs.
DD is love, DD is life, and DD is the most convenient way to get breakfast before class. Plus, the one near Rowan is open 24/7!
8. Not knowing the names of the different dorm buildings.
"I live in Mimosa!"
"Yeah, I could go for a Mimosa, too!"
9. Driving and walking to your 8 a.m. class only to see a "Class Canceled" sign on the door.
Then driving all the way home and going back to sleep.
10. Trying your best not to hit a student crossing 322.
There's a button for a reason people! Being convicted of manslaughter was not in my plans for today!
