Do you find yourself wanting cloudy pool days? Maybe you experience overwhelming jealousy at the bronze skin of people walking by. It's possible you could be suffering from pale skin syndrome this summer and, let me tell you, the struggle is real. Don't worry, you are not alone with your fluorescent light bulb exterior. Tons of people are marshmallows that will not crisp, but rather catch on fire.
Here's a list of things you definitely go through if you're the pale friend of your friend group this summer:
1. Sunscreen is your life source.
Keep in mind that at a certain point, if your SPF is "higher" it's not actually doing much more to help. I know, I felt betrayed when I found this out too.
2. You're either a ghost or a lobster, there's no in-between.
Own it. This is who you are.
3. Everyone always thinks you're blushing.
No, I'm not embarrassed and I really don't think you're cute, okay? I went outside like two weeks ago, and have regretted it ever since.
4. You are incredibly jealous of your friends who can tan.
Seriously? Like, can I just take that gene? You wouldn't mind, right? Sharing is caring, I thought we were friends
5. Sometimes you forget and end up looking like this...
And boy, does it hurt. Especially like the part where your elbow folds. Ouch, it hurts just thinking about it.
6. Whenever you're at the pool, you excessively reapply.
You never know, waterproof is only reliable for so long people!
7. You always pick indoor activities.
It's just safer this way. Plus, who doesn't love air conditioning?
8. Your friends really don't get how bad it is.
No, I can't stay out in the sun without my skin getting irrationally red. Sorry, I don't want cancer by the time I'm 30.
9. The peeling.
Not an exaggeration, you do become a snake and shed your entire self.
