Whether or not you agreed with the way Barack Obama ran our country during his two terms as President of the United States, one thing that almost all of us can agree on was that he was a very personable guy. From all of the corny dad jokes he cracked to the various times he serenaded our country (despite not having the best singing voice... his words not mine), he was always finding a way to make us smile during his presidency. Below are 10 of my personal favorite moments:
1. His corny Thanksgiving jokes.
2. When he ended his White House Correspondents Dinner speech with a mic drop.
3. His first tweet:
4. His ability to entertain kids:
5. His response to the people that say he's arrogant and aloof.
"Some people are so dumb."
6. When he addressed Donald Trump's concern about his birth certificate.
"Donald Trump is here tonight. Now I know that he’s taken some flak lately. But no one is happier—no one is prouder—to put this birth certificate matter to rest than The Donald. And that’s because he can finally get back to focusing on the issues that matter: Like, did we fake the moon landing? What really happened in Roswell? And where are Biggie and Tupac?"
7. The way he handled the 2011 poll numbers.
‘I’ve even let down my core constituents: movie stars. Just the other day Matt Damon – I love Matt Damon – said he was disappointed in my performance. Well Matt, I just saw The Adjustment Bureau so right back at ya buddy!’
8. When he serenaded us at Christmas.
9. When he took a stance on the Kanye West/Taylor Swift war.
"The young lady [Taylor Swift] seems like a perfectly nice person, she's getting her award...he's a jackass."
10. During his farewell address when he announced that his proudest accomplishment in life was being a dad... despite being elected as the first ever African American President of the United States.
"Of all that I've done in my life, I'm most proud to be your dad.”
Take notes Trump. You have some big shoes to fill.
