Summer is here, which means the beach, camping and traveling, for most people. But for the poor college students, it usually means splurging on the occasional Friday night movie, or being stingy and seeing the matinee on Saturday. Summer is when some of the biggest movies come out. Anyone remember that most of the Harry Potter movies made their big debut in summer? So beat the summer heat and go watch some of these great movies coming out this summer.
1.Finding Dory

Finding Dory is the long long awaited sequel to Finding Nemo, which came out in 2003. There is a 13 year wait between the 2 movies, which is just ridiculous. Ever since Ellen Degeneres, who voices Dory, announced the sequel in 2013 everyone has been ready for this sequel. Disney and Pixar did not disappoint. So far in its month since opening its made over 640 million dollars.
2.The Secret Life of Pets

Ever wonder what your precious pet does when you are gone during the day? This movie explores that, taking a look at different species and breeds. The preview has been out for about a year now, keeping audience members on their toes on seeing the movie. The movie has been open for a week now and has already made over 147 million dollars. So join Max and all of his friends on an adventure of a lifetime, you will not be disappointed.
3.Captain America: Civil War

Captain America: Civil War is the third movie in the Captain America series, fitting in after the second Avengers movie. This movie is all about Steve Rogers and his childhood friend Bucky Barnes. 4.Suicide Squad

Suicide is one of the movies on this list that not yet come out yet, but from the previews it definitely has box office power behind it. Suicide squad follows the lives of some of the best villains out there. Harley Quinn and the Joker are 2 of the biggest villains fans are looking forward into seeing. 5.Ghostbusters

Ghostbusters is a remake of one of the greatest films from 1984, with one of the greatest theme songs that there has ever been. Who doesn’t remember singing “Who you gonna call?” “Ghostbusters!!!” at the top of their lungs when they were kids? Well you’re in luck, there is now a new Ghostbusters, with a reimagined cast. The hilarious Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig. After one weekend, it has over 45 million dollars, this one will be a big summer hit for everyone in the family.
6.The BFG

The BFG, was a big book if you grew up in the late 80s and early 90s. Its all about little Sophie and her adventure in meeting the Big Friendly Giant. The book has been brought to life with Steven Spielberg as the director, so the movie is expected to be one of the best kids movies of the summer. Since its opening its grossed over 50 million dollars and is only expected to grow.
7. Alice Through the Looking Glass

How can you go wrong with Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham Carter and all of wonderland wonderful characters? The answer you can’t. This movie has everything you are looking for in the sequel to Alice in Wonderland. This movie is not only colorful and funny but leaves a lasting message with the viewers. That time is not your enemy. With time we all grow and learn. 270 million dollars later and Alice is still helping her friends learn more about themselves.
8.The Legend of Tarzan

As a kid, Tarzan was a big movie in my house. To this day I still quote it, “Is this water sanitary?” is probably my favorite line of the whole movie. In this new Tarzan we see Alexander Scarsgard bring little Tarzan to the big screen. Tarzan is not so little and cartoon in this new movie that is set in Victorian England. Tarzan is trying to overcome his childhood bringing and fit in with society, but of course there are bumps along the way. The movie is packed with action and romance. With over 135 million dollars already earned, swing in and see Tarzan updated today.
9.Warcraft: The Beginning

Warcraft is based on the Warcraft video game and novel series set in the world of Azeroth. This action packed movie is for any of the fans of the video game. Many fan guys and girls rejoiced when the movie came out. 430 millions dollars later, not just the fans rejoiced.
10. Star Trek Beyond

In this Star Trek, Captain Kirk and Spock get stranded on a hostile plant while the rest of the Enterprise crew face an alien threat. This movie comes out 50 years after the first Star Trek made its debut, bring the series full circle. The movie comes out next week, so make sure to get your best Spock face on and go see the Captain and his friends win the battle of their lives. (Let’s hope they do win)
