Life can be stressful sometimes, and a lot of times, music is the only thing that can make somebody feel better. The next time you or a friend are feeling stressed out or sad, listen to or send your friend a song from this list and hopefully it will be able to help make things better. In my opinion, these are the top 10 most relaxing songs on my playlist.

1. Parachute: Disappear

Parachute is a band that isn’t super well known, but their music is very good. This song is from their second newest album "Overnight," and the tune is very relaxing. Parachute’s lead singer Will Anderson has an excellent voice that is very soothing.

2. Ben Rector: Note To Self

Ben Rector has had a lot of success on his latest album Brand New, which quickly climbed to the top of many iTunes charts. This is a great, relaxing song that reminds us not to forget the simple things in life and not to worry as much. This song never fails to make a person feel better.

3. Coldplay: Fix You

Coldplay is an excellent band, and this song shows their talent. Although the song is slower than some of the other songs on this list, the lyrics are excellent and the vocals are very nice to listen to.

4. Marc Scibilia: Jericho

Marc Scibilia is an upcoming singer who opened for Ben Rector’s Brand New tour this spring. He truly has the voice of an angel, which is especially apparent in his song "Jericho." The song is very relaxing yet powerful at the same time.

5. Ben Rector: More Like Love

Ben Rector’s "More Like Love" is an amazing song overall. Rector combines his incredible vocals, lyrical talent and piano playing skills into this song.

6. Zayn: It’s You

Zayn’s new album was just released, and everybody can agree that his vocal range is very impressive. Zayn displays that in his new song “It’s You,” utilizing his famous high notes. This song is very soothing to listen to overall.

7. The Beatles: Let It Be

Possibly the most relaxing and destressing song of all time is the Beatle’s “Let It Be.” The lyrics combined with the melody of the song make the song one of the best to listen to when you’re feeling stressed out.

8. Taylor Swift: All Too Well

Some may argue that this song is kind of sad/depressing (which it is), but the Taylor Swift has a great voice to listen to no matter what kind of mood you’re in. “All Too Well” is a song that a lot of people can relate to, so listening to it during a sad time might make things easier.

9. Maroon 5: She Will Be Loved

This song for me, like many others, reminds me of the singing scene from "The Last Song," which makes me happy. The song has a very hopeful vibe to it while still being a slower paced song, making it perfect for relaxation.

10. Coldplay: Yellow

Another song by Coldplay that displays their talent is the song "Yellow." The song is slower, the lyrics are excellent, which makes a perfect relaxation combination.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine.
