Being a kid has it's perks, like your parents giving you money whenever you ask, getting the latest gaming systems, or even not being asked to take out the trash because you're too little to even pick it up.
Unfortunately, as you get older you have these moments that make you realize you're not so little anymore.
1. When you have younger family around and they get to lick the beaters when mom gets done mixing cake batter together
Being the baby of two older brothers has it's perks, until your oldest brother has children and grandma gives them the beaters while you have to sit there and watch them lick your childhood away.
2. You have to call and schedule a doctor's appointment without your mother's help
This is detrimental. You always end up calling mom and asking, "Did I say the right thing?" or "Our address is 1234 McDonald Street Right?"
3. When your dad makes you buy your own fishing and hunting license
$30 for my duck license and federal game stamp, $15 for fishing residential, $20 for small and big game hunting in state, and $315 for big game out of state...
C'mon now Dad, I am not a millionaire.
4. Going on your first out of town trip without your parents
Paris, France with my college was my first real trip without my parents. My boyfriend and I went to Dallas, Texas to see their hockey team, The Stars, play against Philadelphia Flyers. That was my first trip without being supervised and even though it was fun and I had freedom...
I realized I had to pay for everything... well my boyfriend... but still.
5.Getting your drivers license
This is actually not that big of a deal. You get some freedom, but your parents can still hang your car over your head... even when you move out. It is still considered a "stepping stone of life" though.
6. Driving yourself to school for the first time in your life
This was big for me because I always rode a bus or my dad brought me. I love him and all... buttttt I need personal time and being stuck in a high school with hundreds annoying people all day then going to work then home back with my parents is a lot to handle.
My car was and still is my happy place.
7. Taking care of your financial aid for college without the help of your parents
Yes, my parents pay for college but guess who was responsible for setting it up and making sure everything runs smoothly throughout the year? That's right, this girl here and guess what? I kicked ass at it.
8. Going to a bar
This is always fun because you're such a "virgin" to it. You walk in all wide eye'd and try not to be too young yet at the same time you wanna drink every bottle ok Tequila and Malibu the place has.
9. When you have to buy stuff that your parents would normally pay for
Milk....
10. Moving out of the house
College is fun! You move into a itty bitty dorm with either your best friend or someone you learn to love or hate, all while trying to do life. It sounds easy, but it's hard. You gotta learn quick to sink or swim!
