Instead of us teaching them, let them teach us.

Being an adult is tough; whether it consists of being a full-time student or having a full-time job, we sometimes seem to forget what life is really all about living.

Probably at least once a day I catch myself thinking: I wonder what it would be like to be a kid again? Not a single worry in the world except for who broke the last black crayon in the crayon box or who took the last jello at lunch. Children may tend to think one little thing could be the end of the world, but they have such an amazing outlook on life and might even be able to teach us the same amount that we adults can teach them. Life is about living it to the fullest, so here are some things that kids remind us to never forget in order to maintain a positive and happy mindset.

1. Laughter

Children have the ability to find happiness in almost everything and are willing to find humor in the smallest things in life. You know what they say, a day without laughter is a day wasted.

2. Friendship

As a child, we form new relationships and are willing to hang out with anyone. At such a young age, we aren't judgmental and we like to get to know people for who they are as a person. Kids form bonds with one another and little do they know, those people could be in their lives forever. Friendship is one of the many things we have to be thankful for that starts at such a young age and grows over time.

3. Enjoy the little things

Enjoying the little things in life might be some of the biggest moments a person can have as they live and those little things that make a person happy can all add up. We often take for granted the small things that make us the happiest and children definitely remind us the importance of loving the small things in life that we often pass up.

4. Have confidence

Dance around and be weird. Life is about having fun and being confident within your own body. Kids have a courage that I never see anywhere else other than a classroom full of kids. They aren't afraid to get up and show their friends the new dance they learned, maybe a new cheer, or something else they are proud of themselves for achieving.

5. Be proud

Be proud of yourself, no matter what. We are human, we make mistakes. Does this mean that we are the ultimate screw up? NO. Children could draw a picture that we might not see as something absolutely amazing, but are they proud of it? Most likely. They are proud of themselves for a lot more than we are as we age. It's time that we started to be proud of ourselves for more than we give ourselves credit for.

6. Try new things; every day is a new beginning.

New experiences are what make life so amazing. We need to get out there and try new things in order to experience life and see what it is all about. Every day is something new to experience and we need to make the most of it. As a child, being so young we experience new things every single day and even if we might not like it, we try it anyways because....why not?

As adults, we are practically required to be the ones to show the good example to children and show them structure. However, we tend too look past all of the things that we are forgetting, things that children can teach us every single day. Being a kid is one of the best parts of life, but it isn't the only one. The things children do can help teach us to become better individuals, stop the stressing over adulthood, and show us everything that life is really all about.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
