10 Lessons You Learned From Gilmore Girls

Always aspire to be something more.

10 Lessons You Learned From Gilmore Girls

Gilmore Girls isn't just another show, it's a way of life.

Personally I've watched all seven seasons more times than I care to admit. And with each rerun I learn something more from my favorite and beloved townies.

1. If you're going to screw up and disappoint people, make sure its something worthwhile.

What better way to tell your mom and dad you don't care by having a fling with a cute guy on a motorcycle.

2. Everyone struggles and fails, even a Yale graduate.

Keeping pushing, work hard and always know you aren't alone.

3. Appreciate the little things, even a horoscope.

If this isn't "goals" I don't know what is.

4. Setting goals is an attractive quality.

Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

5. You don't need a man!

You are all beautiful I-N-D-E-P-E-N-D-E-N-T women.

6. However, when you have one it's perfectly acceptable to take charge.

Screw those traditional mindsets.

7. Taking a chance can be scary, but it can also be wonderful.

Even if it terrifies you to your core.

8. You may not have an amazing relationship with your mom, and that's totally fine.

No one does and it will all work out one day, I promise.

9. Being hurt is a part of life, a part of who you are and a part of what makes you stronger.

The hurt you're feeling now will only make you stronger later.

10. Success doesn't come easy, but when it happens it's a damn good feeling.

So go. Go log onto your Netflix account and let the binge-watching commence. I urge you to watch and rewatch all 153 beautiful episodes of Gilmore Girls. I promise it's nothing short of constant laughs and life lessons that you don't want to miss out on. Once you've finished you will feel like you are a resident of Stars Hollow and an honorary Gilmore Girl.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
