From "Legally Blonde," Elle Woods (played by Reese Witherspoon) is exceptional. She started out as the Delta Nu sorority president and fashion major from UCLA and became a Harvard Law graduate. Elle is the embodiment of empowerment. We could all learn a few lessons from her.

1. Stay true to yourself

The best thing about Elle Woods is that she never alters herself to meet the expectations of others. Does anyone else remember her Harvard application video, floating in her pool talking about "Days of Our Lives?"

2. You can do anything (no matter what anyone says)

When Elle announced she was applying to Harvard, literally no one thought she could or should do it. Her dad said Harvard was for boring, ugly people. Her friends thought she meant for vacation. The UCLA academic counselor told her to consider a backup. But as we all know, Elle did make it to Harvard.

3. Know your worth

This lesson actually comes from Professor Stromwell but Elle teaches it through her actions. You are worth so much more than how one person treats you.

4. Walk away from toxic people

If someone is always asking you to change yourself, you probably shouldn't have them in your life. You will feel like you will never meet their standards and what they expect you to be. Never tone down yourself for someone else.

5. Exercise prevents murder

Elle is pretty logical with this. Endorphins really do make you happy!

6. Learn to multi-task

This is a good trick that I've personally learned thanks to Elle Woods. When you have a lot of reading to do, combine it with a workout!

7. Be loyal

Elle got Brooke's alibi that was needed to win the trial, but refused to share it out of loyalty to Brooke. In the end, Elle won the trial without ever having to betray that trust.

8. Expect more of yourself

At Elle's lowest point, she confides in Paulette that she enjoys Harvard because she felt that for the first time someone expected she do more with her life than just become a Victoria's Secret model. Then Elle goes back to Harvard and wins her first case. Bonus: after the trial she gets to put Warner in his place with this awesome line.

9. Believe in others

When working towards your own success, it is important to lift others up too. That way you can empower each other. Often times people can really surprise you.

10. Believe in yourself

At the end of the day, it's your happiness that matters the most. You can achieve any goal as long as you have faith.

Elle Woods really is an amazing person. So are you. And remember, if you ever need it, there is always the bend and snap! After all it works 83 percent of the time...

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
