Attention all avid Disney goers and family vacation planners!
When we go to Disneyland, we want to fit in as much as possible into one day which can seem a bit daunting, however, HAVE NO FEAR! I have compiled some tips and tricks that can help you to get the most out of your Disney experience.
Get there at park opening.
This may seem difficult, especially if you have little ones with you, but if you can’t get there at park opening, get there as soon as you can because this allows for more time for you to spend at the park and, come on, it’s Disneyland! Who doesn’t love being at Disneyland? And there’s a pretty cool opening ceremony for the gate opening that you don’t want to miss!
Get fastpasses for Indiana Jones or Hyperspace mountain FIRST.
These attractions are probably the two most popular experiences that offer fast passes. These attractions are also the two most busy and have some of the longest lines offered in the park. Getting fast passes for one of these as soon as you enter into the park allows for you to fit in some smaller attractions as you wait for your past pass time!
Go straight to Peter Pan!
Peter Pan is a classic attraction and is the most popular classic attraction that is offered in the park. The line is almost always at least 45 minutes long, but in peak seasons is almost always longer. Going straight to this attraction after getting fast passes for Indiana Jones or Hyperspace allows for you to catch the shorter line before it gets too long and hey! You fit in one of the most beloved attractions in Disneyland!
As soon as you can, get fastpasses for the attraction that you did not end up getting fast passes for earlier.
On the back of each fastpass is a time that lets you know when you can get another fastpass for a different attraction. As soon as you can, get the fastpass for Hyperspace Mountain/Indiana Jones because again, those are definitely attractions you want to ride and that you DO NOT want to wait in line for.
Make a list before arriving at Disneyland of the attractions that you most want to ride and the shows you want to see.
By knowing ahead of time what shows you want to see and what attractions you want to ride, you better equip yourself to plan! Plan around the shows you want to see and plan to arrive anywhere between 30-40 minutes before a show time to get a good seat!
When you start slowing down a bit, focus on the attraction in New Orleans and Critter Country.
Critter Country has Winnie the Pooh and New Orleans has some classic, cooler rides like Pirates of the Caribbean. These allow for some down time and the lines for Pirates and Winnie the Pooh ALWAYS goes by fast!
After getting fast passes for Hyperspace and Indiana, get fast passes for Splash Mountain if you’re up for it!
Splash Mountain always has a long line and fast passes help you cut your wait time which allows for some more down time to eat and relax! Try your favorite treats at Disneyland during this time!
Always go to the second parade after the fireworks.
The second show always has less Guests because most go home! Also, you’re going to want to save a good spot for the firework show because they’re absolutely magical and you’re not going to want to miss them, TRUST ME.
DON’T EVER GET FAST PASSES FOR THUNDER MOUNTAIN.
The line may look bad, but I promise you it moves very fast. The Cast Members are very good at keeping the line moving and trust me, you’re going to want to save that fastpass.
Lastly, don’t get overwhelmed.
Yes, the crowds can be overwhelming and sometimes people aren’t the kindest, however, Disneyland is YOUR land. We’re here for you! We want to make your day special! Don’t be afraid to talk to a Cast Member if you need some help. Trust me, we know how you feel.
