Now that summer is here for the vast majority of us, maybe it is time to actually find something that we enjoy. We no longer have the stress of homework, studying and exams. Now we have time for things that are fun and help us to destress. That's where hobbies come into play.
It is always good to have a hobby because it is something different. Here are some hobbies that you might want to consider picking up over the summer. Who knows, maybe you will enjoy one so much you will find yourself continuing this hobby into the school year?
1. Yoga
Yoga is something you can do outside when it is nice out as you can breath in the fresh air. Either go to a park, beach, your backyard or a yoga studio. Also, try to get your friends to join you. Yoga is also just as relaxing as much as it helps your body.
2. Reading
Everyone is always forced to read in school and no one really does it for fun anymore. So here is your chance to find a nice couple of books and just dive deep into literature. Again, this is another hobby that is fun whether you are inside or outside.
3. Kayaking
Kayaking is something that is fun to do anywhere you can do it. It shows you a different perspective of places you have already seen and you can do long trips or short trips out on the lake or river.
4. Photography
Maybe you have always wanted to learn how to take beautiful pictures, so buy yourself a camera and start somewhere. This may even give you a reason to travel a little, too.
5. Gardening
If you have a passion for flowers, allow yourself to build your own little garden. Whether it be growing vegetables or to have something pretty to look at, this can be an activity you really enjoy.
6. Crafting

7. Hiking
Hiking somewhere does not mean you have to go hike the Appalachian trail. You can take a day trip to somewhere local or even in your backyard. There are so many places waiting for you to explore.
8. Cooking
At school you may never have the time to truly cool because you're always so busy. This is why summer is the perfect time for you to learn how to bake some awesome dishes. You will eventually need to know how to make something other than Raman Noodles, so why not start learning now?
9. Travel
Everyone desires to travel. Although, traveling does not mean you have to go out of country or even out of state, but maybe just a weekend getaway somewhere near you is all that you need.
10. Festivals
So this may not be a hobby per say, but music festivals are one hell of a time. Make sure you check out the festivals near you, or plan a road trip with some of your best friends to attend one. Let the music, the beer, the company of good people, and the overall experience be the best one yet this summer. Enjoy!
