Growing up in a funny family has probably been one of my greatest blessings. From a very young age, I learned to be flexible and to never take anything too seriously. Growing up in a funny family is knowing there will always be someone to one-up your one-up. It's irreplaceably entertaining. You'll never laugh as hard with anyone as you do with your family, and you'd never want to. You're thankful for your family's incredible sense of humor (but you also pray that it never goes to their heads). Here are 10 things that happen when you grow up with lovable lunatics.
1. You're constantly reading group-texts to friends, co-workers, anyone who will listen.
2. People who date you actually just date your family.
3. Everyone's role in the family is so well-defined, it practically flows as a sitcom.
4. In fact, people start to legitimately wonder if you're conversations are scripted.
5. Car rides are 1,000 times better.
6. Family dinners frequent the social media stratosphere.
7. It's always all fun and games until someone gets hurt.
8. When friends come, they never want to leave (unless things get messy).
9. Being apart is nearly impossible.
10. But you know you'll always be loved, supported, and (especially) mocked unconditionally.
It's a riot (and sometimes a shit show), but you cherish every moment.
