Group chats can be the life and the death of a phone. They give phones life because you have all of your friends just sitting in the palm of your hand. But they are the cause of death when the battery starts draining all too quickly because these 10 people show up to do what they do best.

1. The one who starts it.

Clearly, this person has something to say that is just so important it just can’t wait and everyone has to be present in order for it to be said.

2. The one who always has something to say.

Maybe this is the same person who started the chat, but this is the person who constantly keeps the chat going. Either way, when your phone is blowing up between the ungodly hours of 3 and 7 a.m., you know why.

3. The one who always has to be right.

Typically this person and the person who always has something to say do not get along. For obvious reasons.

4. The one who just exists.

This person never says anything to the point you forget they exist. Their conversation might be muted or maybe they just enjoy watching all of the stupidity go down from the sidelines.

5. The one who no one responds to.

We don’t know why this happens, but it does. We also don’t know how this person has lasted so long in the chat.

6. The one who never knows what is going on.

132 messages later, and they hit you with that “wait what did I miss?” text.

7. The one who uses text messages instead of iMessage.

This person is the reason we threaten to move the entire group chat to GroupMe, or we make the threat they get blue messages instead of green, or they can’t chat with us.

8. The one who only talks in GIFs.

Maybe this is also the person who nobody responds to because we are all asking ourselves the question "I mean, why?"

9. The one who always changes the name.

Again, why?

10. The one who leaves.
