Chances are, if you don't attend SIUE or have friends that go to SIUE you have never heard of Cougar Tuesday. So what is Cougar Tuesday you ask? Cougar Tuesday is a chance to get 50 percent at our local Dairy Queen's with our student IDs on the first and last Tuesday of the month. Cougar Tuesday is a magical thing for SIUE students. And here is what goes on in an SIUE students head when it is Cougar Tuesday.

Realizing it's Cougar Tuesday

The realization is the first step, I mean when you realize its Cougar Tuesday, you realize you already have at least one meal planned, quite possibly the only meal you'll eat for the day.

Waiting for class to get out to go to DQ


The wait is dreadful and usually class takes way longer than it should, sooooo, sometimes you probably skip...

Asking your friends if they want to go to Cougar Tuesday

"Hey, you wanna go to Cougar Tuesday?" "What? It's Cougar Tuesday, I totally forgot." "Lucky you got me, huh?"

Driving to DQ

Yeah, that's probably you above, dancing in the car with your friends on the way there.

Getting to DQ

Your face when you see how packed the parking lot is.

Going into DQ

Seeing tons of people you know and feeling like you must say hi to them.

Ordering your food

Let's be honest, you probably do want it all, but even with 50 percent off you couldn't afford it. #brokecollegestudent

Waiting for your food

Probably you everytime someone gets their food and it isn't you because coug' Tuesday is a busy time.

When you finally get your food and your so ready to eat it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
