1. The feeling after a day at the beach.
The powdery softness after a day spent in the sand, when sand is all over your feet, legs and car. The smell of salt water when you feel extremely dirty and clean at the same time.
2. Ice cream in the summer.
Nights when there's nothing to do and you just go get ice cream at your local shop. The feeling of eating it outside in the warmth as the sun is setting. Ice cream just tastes better on summer nights.
3. Summer concerts.
Going to concerts on the lawn of an arena, listening to music with hundreds of other people. The carefree feeling of summer, along with the warmth, allowing you to not have a care in the world but the music that's playing in front of you.
4. Showering after a day at the beach.
Freshly tan, soft skin from the hours spent in the heat and the sand. Feeling clean and refreshed. When you're just simply sun-tired.
5. BBQs with friends and family.
Smelling the charred hot dogs, hamburgers and ribs all afternoon while sustaining yourself on chips. Being surrounded by interesting people.
6. Less clothing.
No longer layered down by the bitter cold of winter, just shorts, t-shirts and flip flops all day.
7. That tipsy feeling from waves.
I don't think there's a word for it but the feeling of the motion of waves and the swaying as you're drifting off to sleep.
8. Friends.
The endless amount of time for friends, corny jokes, adventures and last moments as some head to college for the first time or some head back. The feeling of being united after a long separation.
9. The ease of no stress.
Carefree. Stress seems like a distant memory. Days go by with no alarm set, plans being made as the day goes on.
10. The endless possibilities.
In the summer, it feels like anything can happen. Plans don't need to be made, adventures can just happen. Anything seems possible.
