It's true. The nightmares of One Direction fans around the world have come true. The hurt began with Zayn Malik's abrupt departure from the group. Then, there was speculation for months after their two-year "break" was announced. Harry Styles left the group's long time management and was rumored to have signed his solo record deal with Columbia Records.

Now, there is no denying it. Band member Liam Payne posted on both Twitter and Instagram on July 21, announcing his own solo record deal with Capitol Records.

My heart is broken, and I'm sure many others are, too. Here are 10 of One Direction's most emotional songs you can cry to while you mourn the end of another boy band.

1. "Moments" (2011)

What a simple time 2011 was. But even then, this song was enough to make us cry, and so it will continue to.

2. "Little Things" (2012)

Ever though I was super weird when I was a freshman in high school, 1D still loved my little things.

3. "Over Again" (2012)

Yes. Please do it all over again.

4. "Don't Forget Where You Belong" (2013)

"One Direction will always be my home and my family," Liam Payne said on Twitter. RT if you cry every time.

5. "Half a Heart" (2013)

There really was no better way to end the "Midnight Memories" album than with a track that actually rips your heart in half.

6. "You & I" (2013)

Nothing will come between 1D and us.

7. "Fireproof"

But they weren't fireproof, were they?

8. "Night Changes" (2014)

"It will never change me and you." Yeah, I would agree with that. I'll probably still be singing this when I'm 85.

9. "If I Could Fly" (2015)

If you listen closely, you can hear my ugly crying.

10. "Love You Goodbye" (2015)

"It's inevitable everything that's good comes to an end." It's been a great six years as a One Direction fan.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
