10 Emojis Missing in the New Update

They just make everything better.

Everyone loves emojis--they just make messages so much better. Apple just recently released its new iOS 10 update, which included some new emojis and updated some old ones. They are still, however, missing several emojis that I think are key to be able to send more realistic messages to each other. Here are a few emojis that I think really should be included in the next emoji update, including suggestions from some friends and coworkers.

1. A Napping Person

A person with their head down on the table or a person fully clothed lying in a bed would be nice. People are so into napping these days I think it would be nice to indulge them, wouldn't it?

2. A Butterfly

This is a request from my coworker, who really likes butterflies, but I have to agree with her. The only insects currently represented in the emojis are ants, bees, caterpillars, and ladybugs. So not the fun, pretty one. Get it together, Apple.

3. A Sloth

Flash, flash, hundred yard dash is NOT represented in the emoji collection. I am biased because sloths are in fact my favorite animal, but just think of all the perfect occasions you have to send a sloth emoji to someone that you have missed because of Apple's negligence. For example:

"Want to go out and do this thing with me that you don't even want to do? With me, your friend who only messages you when I need something?"

CUE SLOTH EMOJI. SEVERAL OF THEM. Perfect excuse.

4. A Cupcake

"There is a slice of a cake, a full cake, and an ice cream cone...but what if you don't want to give someone a full on cake for their birthday? What about those times when one cupcake is all you need?"

Enough said.

5. Guacamole

Seriously, where is the guac?!?! Everybody loves guac--always a fan favorite at parties. I'm thinking a nice heaping bowl of guac with a chip in it would really just make the emojis that much better. Side note: there also isn't an avocado emoji...

6. A Margarita

Because after a long day at the office, what's better then asking the girls out for drinks? But, instead of using words, you can use PICTURES! Because, as was previously stated, emojis make everything better. So do margaritas.

7. A Tuba

Because sometimes, you just feel like a tuba: lumbering along in life on the fringes of society, hoping that someone will come along and ask you to be a part of their life. Fourth grade me always wanted to play the tuba, and even though I never got the opportunity, having a tuba emoji will make me feel that much better.

8. An Acoustic Guitar

Right now there is only an electric guitar emoji, which is fine, if that's your style. But its a shame that all the quiet rockers out there, all those bedroom superstars, cannot be represented accurately with an emoji. So come on, Apple. Help us rock out the right way.

9. A Sandwich

"I honestly don't understand why more people don't love sandwiches." My best friend says it best, and I'm sure she would be overjoyed if there were a sandwich emoji, along with millions of other people haha. What kind of sandwich-hating people do they have working there at Apple?

10. A Witch's Hat

Because sometimes, someone is just being too witchy and you need to tell them to stay in their lane...through emojis. Savage? Maybe. Useful? Definitely.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
