If you have never been to a Xavier University basketball game, but you watch the games on television, you may be wondering what's going on off the court. Here's a little insight into some of the things that go on at the games.
1. Free Stuff
Whether it's a foam sword or a free T-shirt, the perks of being a student are the free things we get for coming to the game. After all, "free" is a college student's favorite word.
2. Patriotism
Xavier always shows how thankful we are for those who have served our country.
3. FIRE!
When introducing the starting line-up for the Xavier Musketeers, there is a burst of flames after each introduction, which is then followed by a round of fireworks after the entire line-up has been introduced.
4. Newspaper Confetti
The first shot Xavier makes, we throw the newspaper into the air to celebrate!
5. A Cameraman In the Student Section
The cameramen always looks to the student section for some cheering fans to show on TV. Go X!
6. Old Faces
The student section has a multitude of enlarged signs, including former Xavier players Matt Stainbrook and Dee Davis.
7. Student Band
The Xavier University band plays their tunes and gets involved with some of the student cheers during the game.
8. Balloons!
During the second half, white balloons are passed out for the students to flail around as they cheer the team on.
