At every stage in your life, there is a need for some motivation. Whether that motivation is to help get you through a meltdown or the motivation is to keep you strong and happy, we all need motivation. For me, and I am sure many of you, we get our motivation from quotes. I can not tell you how many times I have found myself going on Google and typing motivational quotes in the search bar. It is amazing how many options pop up and how quickly I find myself feeling ready to take on the world after ready a few. But if I am being completely honest some of my favorite quotes are Disney quotes. There is something about Disney that never fails to put a smile on my face. Whether it's listening to soundtracks or watching your favorite movie, there is so much motivation in every sentence.
Over time, I have narrowed all the Disney quotes down to my top 10. These are quotes I live by, these are the quotes I write on my mirrors or in my notebooks in class.
1. "All our dreams can come true - if we have the courage to pursue them" — Walt Disney
It doesn't get more clear than that. This just reminds us that we can do anything we put our minds to.
2. "You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think." — from "Winnie the Pooh"
This quote is currently written on a white board in my dorm room. I think we all need to be reminded just how brave, strong, and smart we truly are. Life gets hard sometimes and can really beat you up, but remember Winnie the Pooh believes in your bravery, strength, and intelligence.
3. "Oh yes, the past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it or learn from it." — Rafiki from "The Lion King"
It doesn't get better than a quote from Rafiki. He is known for being a character full of wisdom and truth. I'm sure we all agree that this quote is 100 percent true. The past is full of lessons learned, and it is something we can't and shouldn't run from.
4. "Sometimes the right path is not the easiest one." — Grandmother Willow from "Pocahontas"
Another wise quote from another character full of wisdom. I know for me I like to take the easy way, but over time I've learned, kind of like Pocahontas, that the right path can be scary but worth it.
5. "Some people are worth melting for." — Olaf from "Frozen"
Although this quote is from a new Disney movie, it is definitely worth living by. Through life you will find people who deserve your all, and unfortunately, some that don't. But it is very important that some people truly are "worth melting for."
6. "You got your own style now let it come through, and remember no matter what, you got to be you." — Sebastian from "The Little Mermaid"
I think Sebastion said it best, multiple times throughout the entire movie, but especially in this quote. There is no one better to be than yourself.
7. "I know ever mile, will be worth my while. When I go the distance, I'll be right where I belong." — "Hercules"
Hercules reminds us to live your life knowing it will all be worth it, once you get to where you belong.
8. "Just keep swimming." — Dory from "Finding Nemo"
I think it is safe to say this quote is one of the most popular quotes used for motivation. When you hit rough times, just keep swimming and you will make it through. Plain and simple, it will all be ok.
9. "Smile, breath, and believe in magic." — Walt Disney
This is the quote I decided to put on my high school graduation cap, and I will never regret that choice. It is perfect for when you are about to dive into something new. Whether you're starting a new job, going to college, or moving just let this quote guide you through it.
10. "Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind, or forgotten." — "Lilo and Stitch"
I saved the best for last. The famous "Lilo and Stitch" quote. Family has a different definition to everyone, but regardless of what it means to you, it is something important. For me, "Lilo and Stitch" say it perfectly. It's basic, but it covers it all.
Disney is full of motivation, it is in every song lyric and every movie line, you just have to open your eyes and ears. If you have a bad day throw on a good disney playlist or watch some disney movies. If you have a good day, do the same thing. Disney will never disappoint you when it comes to motivation for your life.
