10 Disney One-Liners You Didn't Catch As A Kid

We've all had that lightbulb moment when we realize the makers at Disney are pretty funny people.

Since the school year has ended I have found myself with a ton of extra time on my hands. I couldn't think of a better way to fill my time than watching Disney movies. I hadn't seen most of these movies since I was a kid, so I'm just now catching some of those one-liners you don't catch as a kid. Here are a few of my favorite one-liners.

1. "Beauty and The Beast"

This was the one-liner that started my binge watching of Disney movies, and it inspired this article. I just caught this for the first time. Probably because for the first time in my life I can relate. I appreciate you, Cogsworth.

2. "Peter Pan"

The mermaids were splashing Wendy because they thought she was taking their precious Peter Pan from them, so ya know, the best solution is to drown her right? As it turns out, mermaids are heartless (que "Heartless" by Kanye West).

3. "Emperor's New Groove"

Coming from you Kuzco, you jerk face. You're not much of a looker yourself. I can still appreciate the humor of this joke, though.

4. "Toy Story"

I say this way too often to people, little did I know I got it from "Toy Story." It makes the movie a little better (if that's possible) in my opinion.

5. Sleeping Beauty

This was just a fantastic comeback that I wish I could take credit for, turns out fairies are just as witty as they are magical.

6. "The Little Mermaid"

Man, Sebastian, you were a pretty wise dude. This one isn't as humorous, it's just spot on--teenagers are not as cool or smart as we think we are.

7. "Frozen"

I didn't get this one the first time I watched it, so little kids certainly wouldn't. I really hope I don't have to explain this one...

8. "The Princess and the Frog"

I just appreciated the church humor in this one; we would all be sweatin', sister.

9. "Tangled"

I really enjoyed this one, mainly because this is something I would say. I'll probs use it sometime in the future.

10. "Mulan"

This is probably the one I've known about the longest. I still didn't notice it until I was older, but it's fine, and nonetheless awesome.

I love Disney for so many reasons, and now that I am older I have grown to love it even more because I catch more of these one-liners that are meant for the adult watchers. Have fun watching, and hope you can catch some that I wasn't quick enough to notice.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
