Going into my sophomore year of college, I remember how my sophomore year of high school was. I remember walking into the school and just knowing that I am one year closer to graduation and I was happy about that. When classes started for my sophomore year here at college, I realized that I am one semester closer to graduation and I’m not too happy about that. From last year to this year, I have compared high school to college and I saw many differences to them.

1. The People

High school: Everyone that I went to high school with, I remember them from third grade and I never talked to them.

College: People that are in my classes I have never met and I always talked to them.

2. Books

High school: They are provided to you and you actually use them.

College: You have to take out a small loan and you never use them.

3. Classes

High school: You are required to take a math class, a science class, and more classes you hate.

College: You can pick your classes and take whatever classes you want.

4. Schedules.

High school: Your time is dictated by others.

College: You take charge of your own time management.

5. Study areas.

High school: Your room at home is the place you studied the most.

College: You should just put your bed in the library right now.

6. Homework and papers.

High school: You can finish everything in one night.

College: It’s better to start everything the day it’s assigned.

7. Reading.

High school: You get assigned a chapter to read basically means a night off from doing homework.

College: You need to do the reading and it might take a few cups of coffee to do so.

8. Attendance.

High school: Everyone is required to be there.

College: Everyone wants to be there.

9: Appearance.

High school: You spend a good hour to get ready in the morning.

College: As long as your clothes don’t smell…it’s good to wear.

10. Curfew.

High school: You had to be home at a certain time.

College: It’s your own judgment on when you get back to your dorm.

College and high school both have their ups and downs. It just depends on whether you like the way high school was or how college is. Looking back at all of these things, I would still pick college over high school any day.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
