As August winds down, and September makes its yearly appearance, I usually begin to feel those annual summer withdrawals. However, the silver lining to the absence of toasty days, wet and wild gatherings at the pool, and smokey cookouts with your loved ones, is the arrival of fall. Fall, which officially begins Sept. 23 this year, has many inviting attributes that should make anyone excited enough to welcome the season with open arms. Here are the top 10 reasons I'm always eager for fall:

1. Changing of the Leaves

Without a doubt, one of the most beautiful parts of nature is the annual changing of the leaves that comes with fall's arrival.

2. Warm Drinks

Whether you're a coffee, tea, or hot chocolate person, when the chilly weather blows in warm drinks are always appreciated!

3. Caramel Apples

Caramel apples are a fun and tasty treat that is usually associated with the coming of fall. The original green apple with simple caramel topping is delicious, but it's also fun to try different varieties of apples and toppings as well!

4. Sweaters and Cardigans

Undoubtedly, cozying up in an oversized sweater is not only super comfy but really cute! Whether you pair it with skinny jeans, or tights, an oversized sweater will always be in style during the fall and winters months.

5. Fuzzy Socks

Fuzzy socks are super cute and comfy, not to mention they're a great way to keep your feet warm with the dropping temperature.

6. Boots

What's better than a great pair of boots? Definitely one of the best parts of welcoming in fall is getting to pull out your boots from the back of your closet, dust them off, and throw them on with virtually any outfit.

7. Halloween

One of the favorite fall holidays across America is Halloween. Between carving your jack-o-lantern, running through your neighborhood for candy, and finding that perfect costume, Halloween is a fun holiday no matter how old you are.

The first thing that comes to mind during Thanksgiving is the feast that you get to devour. However, when you really consider this fall holiday, its message is one that can't be beat. What could be better than gathering around a table with your family and friends, and celebrating what everyone has to be thankful for?

9. Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The whole month of October is celebrated as Breast Cancer Awareness month. Getting to support a great cause amidst all of the other fall fun is really a great topper on reasons why fall is fantastic.

10. Football is back

NFL football is back! Everyone is likely to agree that you pretty much aren't American if you don't wait around all year to watch your team (hopefully) win the Superbowl.
