Have you ever joked about possibly having an addiction to chocolate? Well you shouldn't, it's rude. But that close-to-maybe-possibly-obsessed feeling is no joke. In fact, it's very much a real feeling (and not just when it comes to creamy sweets). That feeling, friends, is a particular feeling I get whenever I see an item in my Amazon shopping cart go up for sale. An excited thrill runs from the tips of my fingers to the tips of my toes. Now when an item is eligible for two day shipping on Amazon Prime, you should see the light that flashes into my eyes. Now while this all may hold a hint of sarcasm, I can 100% guarantee you that while you and I are having a nice little giggle behind these screens of ours, I don't know about you but I have at least two other tabs open and I'd be lying if one of them wasn't Target or Wish.com. So here are a few other confessions I have to make. But first, I feel the need to start off with a typical saying that should start us out on a pretty relatable foot. Hello, My name is Broke College Student, and I... am an online shopaholic.
1. Coming home to a new package in the mail is like your birthday & Christmas all at once.
Who says that other people have to be the ones buying you presents? At this point, I'm a firm believer that the best presents are the ones you can receive from yourself. That reminds me, don't forget with presents comes thank you cards! ... or maybe just more packages!
2. FREE SHIPPING IS YOUR BFF
If I'm being completely honest with myself, Amazon Prime was the best investment I have EVER made... sorry mom and dad! My college education is important and all but free two day shipping is the move.
3. The UPS guy knows you by name
It's not entirely your fault. Maybe Jerry just has a photographic memory... one can hope.
4. You sometimes buy things you really don't NEED
Okay, but what does "need" REALLY mean? When it comes to rationalizing you have a whole new mantra other than "food, shelter, clothing..."
5. You check on your packages shipping progress more then you should admit
Yeah but if the package is in a city 4 hours away why is the estimated delivery still 24 hours away?!
6. CYBER MONDAY? YOU MEAN THE BEST DAY OF THE YEAR?!
Black Friday you say? But that means I have to leave the house...
7. Between the time it takes you to lay down and finally fall asleep, you've already ordered something.
Scrolling Twitter before bed is a thing of the past at this point...
8. When you finally buy all the items in your cart you can't help but want to celebrate
There's really just no feeling of accomplishment quite like it!
9. Finding discount codes for anything is like finding a piece of candy you didn't know you had
Ahhhhh just so sweet
10. When someone judges you on your slight obsession you just can't help but laugh
Problem? What problem? Not a problem here!
