Fall is finally here! The time of year for cozy sweaters, hot apple cider and Friday night football games. You can spend the season mourning the loss of summer or you can embrace the beautiful season that is autumn. Here is a list of activities you should make time for this fall!

1. Apple picking.

Find a sunny day and go to a local orchard. Not only are you supporting a local farm but you will also be able to make apple crisp, apple pie and apple sauce for the next week. Enjoy some hot cider and get to picking those apples!

2. Pumpkin picking.

Don't stop at just picking apples! Go to a local pumpkin patch too. Pumpkins serve as great porch decorations. Most pumpkin patches have plenty of fun activities to do while you visit. Go on a hayride with your closest friends with you're there.

3. Carve a pumpkin.

Once you bring your pumpkins home from the pumpkin patch, carve your masterpiece. Carve it a few days before Halloween so you can get in to the festive spirit. You can either buy a kit or freestyle it.

4. Go on a haunted hayride or to a haunted house.

Fall is the time for spooky things! What better way to spend a chilly Friday night than getting scared half to death? Fall is by far the spookiest season so enjoy it!

5. Jump in to a giant leaf pile.

Raking leaves can feel like a massive chore-until you make it a fun fall activity! Next time you need to rake the leaves in your front yard, jump in to the pile and relive your childhood days. You won't regret it.

6. Bake.

Sure, you can bake at any time during the year but baked goods always seem to taste better on a chilly fall day. Make all the apple pie and pumpkin bread you possibly can!

7. Go for a walk in the park.

Enjoy the fleeting warm days while they last. The temperature won't be above freezing for very long. Step on the extra crunchy leaves while you walk and enjoy the season.

8. Go to a Friday night football game.

Even if you don't know anyone at the local high school, go to the football game. Nothing makes me feel more festively fall then drinking hot chocolate at a local football game. Support the local kids!

9. Put together an awesome group costume for Halloween.

Don;t just go solo this Halloween. Get your best friends together and organize a fantastic group costume. You will be the hit of whatever Halloween party you go to!

10. Spend your entire Sunday watching football.

Sunday is the day of rest but is most importantly the day of football. Make some tasty chicken wing dip, order some pizza and watch the ball game with your best pals.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
