10 Classic Instagram Pictures From SDSU Students

San Diego State University is an exceptional school, with

many different aspects that its students love. Current and past SDSU students are always very proud to be an Aztec, and they demonstrate their sense of pride prolifically over social media, namely Instagram.

1. In front of Hepner Hall. It doesn’t matter if your parents take this picture of you on your orientation day, or if your kids take it of you when you return as an alumnae, a picture in front of Hepner Hall is done by all of SDSU’s current and past students.

2. At a basketball game. Basketball is one sport that SDSU excels in. SDSU is also known for their student section during the basketball game. So dress in red and black, paint your face, hold a cutout picture of your favorite celebrity’s head, and get ready for a picture that’s about to get a ton of likes.

3. Joining Greek life. Greek life is pretty large at SDSU. So, when you finally get a bid from the house that you wanted, you make sure to document it. Throw up the hand sign of your chapter, wear your new shirt, and pose with your letters so that people know exactly which house you are finally a part of.

4. San Diego sunset or beach. If you go to school in one of the most beautiful cities in the U.S., you might as well capture that daily beauty. San Diego sunsets are amazing, and San Diego beaches are also aesthetically amazing, so you might as well combine the two for an overly beautiful photo that will make your friends from home jealous of the new city you live in.

5. Potato Chip rock. San Diego is also known for its amazing hiking trails. One of the trails has a rock that is very slender and hangs further off the mountain than the rest of the trail. Rebellious hikers will stand on the rock that looks similar to a potato chip, just so that they can take a picture.

6. In the dome. Every university has a library. SDSU’s library happens to be underground and have an entrance that is half of a glass sphere and looks somewhat like something you would see in a sci-fi movie. It is really unique and many students basically live there during midterms and finals. It’s a nice picture to show how cool your library looks, while also how much of a champ you are for studying so much.

7. With our Aztec mascot. Most universities have some sort of animal as their mascot, and require a poor, innocent student to prance around in a large, sweaty costume. SDSU, on the other hand, has a tan, shirtless, incredibly ripped man holding a conch and wearing a headdress as their mascot. Taking a picture with the Aztec mascot is something you definitely want.

8. Decked out in SDSU apparel. Wear the hat with the shirt, with the zip-up hoodie, with the sweats, and have the backpack on, while holding the water bottle and the lanyard. Bonus likes if you take the picture in front of Hepner Hall.

9. View from the student union. SDSU’s brand new, four-story high building provides students with plenty of photo opportunities. The most popular ones are of the bird-eye view of campus you can get by going to the top of the student union -- or only the third floor if you aren’t special enough to have access to the fourth.

10. Fraternity party. Every university has parties, but the SDSU student body seems to pride themselves on how well they are able to throw the party. If your picture includes you wearing skimpy clothing, at night, with people all around you, and flashing colorful lights, people will know what you’ve been up to.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
