Sitting by a fire with some hot cocoa and wrapped up in a blanket with all your loved ones by your side. What could possibly get better than that? A movie, of course!
The holidays are coming in full force this year, so fast that the radio stations started playing Christmas music the day after Halloween and totally disregarding Thanksgiving. With that being said, I'd like to take the time to talk about some of the best Christmas movies to watch.
1. "Elf"
I mean how could you not be in love with this movie? It's a classic and Will Ferrell dressed up in tights pretending to be an elf while he is over 6 feet tall sounds pretty funny to me.
2. "Home Alone 1 & 2"
The ultimate dream as a kid was definitely staying home alone and McCauley Culkin (young and before the craziness) plays out all of our dreams in these two classics. The third and fourth movies were pretty much let downs, but you can never go wrong with the first two. Happy watching you filthy animals!
3. "Christmas Vacation"
At the request of my mother who told me to add this to the list, Christmas Vacation everybody! Everything that could go wrong with Christmas occurs in this movie and a young Chevy Chase is on the case, but of course with many big bumps in the road. This flick will surely have you out of your seats laughing uncontrollably till your socks fall off.
4. "Polar Express"
This is one of my favorites because Tom Hanks is in it and you can never go wrong with a little Tommy H. in your life.
5. "How the Grinch Stole Christmas"
My personal favorite Jim Carrey character to date, and for all those who haven't seen it yet, it will soon be yours too.
6. "Love Actually"
If you haven't seen this amazing film, then you must. It's absolutely charming and everyone's British.
7. "Christmas with the Kranks"
Tim Allen in a Christmas movie other than "The Santa Claus," what has this world come to? But really, this is actually a great movie to watch with the loved ones who wanted to go on a warm trip, but with a little bad luck had to stay home in the cold for the holidays. At least they'll be spending some quality time with you right?
8. Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas
Oh Disney Christmas movies. You can never go wrong with a little Mickey in your life. Plus your childhood self will greatly appreciate this endearing flick.
9. "Nightmare Before Christmas"
Not necessarily Christmas, but I still put it under that category because Santa Claus is in it. It's a creepy, yet fun twist on Christmas.
10. "Holiday in Handcuffs"
Not many people have heard of this film, but it is seriously so funny and a must watch. Plus Mario Lopez is in it and he's a total babe.
