Because quite a few people would be.

After the amount of scandals, shifting stances, and prejudice that have come out of Hillary and Trump’s campaigns, voters are confused. At this point, it doesn’t matter which party you associate yourself with, neither candidate seems like a very ethical choice. This is really a race where the options are “The Worst” and “Slightly Less Worse." As this is my first general election that I’ll be able to vote in, I’m slightly disappointed by this turnout, but have decided to keep my sights towards a positive outlook. There are plenty of people who could be a better president than these two candidates, and I’ve decided to list them for the sake of my fellow Americans.

  1. Lin Manuel Miranda

As the writer of the hit musical Hamilton, Miranda obviously knows his history! Also, he’s obviously incredibly intelligent (based on his writing), and really just seems like a stand-up guy. He would take care of us.

  1. Michelle Obama

Okay, I LOVE Michelle Obama. She went to Harvard law (um, yes girl, get it.), seems so kind, poised, and genuinely concerned about the well-being of the people around her. Also, did you see her Carpool Karaoke video?! I trust her.

  1. George Washington’s ghost

Arguably one of the greatest American presidents, I think George Washington should make a comeback. There could be a few logistical problems with this one, but I feel like it could work better than deporting every immigrant/banning the Muslim religion.

  1. Anna Kendrick

I don’t know about you, but Anna Kendrick is my girl crush FOREVER. She’s like the funny, edgy, older sister America needs right now. Also, she is very upfront about the mistakes she makes on her Twitter account, so I’m not worried about any email leakages from this one.

  1. Bo Obama

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. Bo Obama (the first family’s pet dog), seems like a good guy. Dogs are more pure than humans, so I don’t think we’ll have any ethics problems with this one. ALSO, let’s put him on some currency; he is ADORABLE.

  1. Michael Scott

As the beloved (kind of) boss on the hit TV show “The Office," I feel like Michael Scott would be a pretty good president. He genuinely cares about his work and his employees, and I think he would care about the American people as well. We may have a few scandals from this one, but nothing quite as serious as either of our current candidates have/will face.

  1. Oprah

I don’t know a lot about Oprah, but I just feel like she’d be a good choice. You get equal rights, you get equal rights, you get equal rights!

  1. Harry Potter

The wild card of the bunch, but I just feel like if he could live through all of his run ins with Voldemort, he could easily handle American foreign and domestic policies. Also, Hermione for vice president? Actually, maybe we could switch the roles there.

  1. Tian Tian (that panda that rolled around in the snow that one time)

If you ever experience any sadness in your life, I recommend you watch this video. This panda is so happy and loves the snow so much, I feel like he’s going to take care of us. Also, animal rights would be protected for sure.

  1. Any person who doesn’t do shady things and isn’t aggressively racist and/or sexist
Do you fit this description? Congratulations! This is officially the encouragement you need to run for president as a third party candidate! All I’m really asking for is a candidate that I can trust, that doesn’t have a platform based on anger and hatred. You could be the next president!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
