Everyone loves a good movie. When your favorite book becomes a movie, and you think it will be a good adaptation it's even better (usually). Here are 10 books that are becoming movies in the near future that are highly anticipated!

1. "The Shack" based on the novel by William P. Young

Release Date: August 2016

Synopsis: A drama about a father whose young daughter disappears, believed to have been murdered, while on a family camping trip. Years later, he receives a note asking him to return to the shack where his daughter’s bloody clothes were found.

Cast: Sam Worthington, Octavia Spencer, Graham Greene and Tim McGraw

2. "The Light Between Oceans" based on the novel by M.L. Stedman

Release Date: September 2016

Synopsis: A drama about a lighthouse keeper and his wife Isabel, who live off the coast of Western Australia. They find a baby girl washed up on shore in a lifeboat and decide to keep her and raise her as their own.

Cast: Michael Fassbender, Alicia Vikander, Rachel Weisz, Caren Pistorius, Florence Clery, Anthony Hayes and Emily Barclay

3. "The Girl On The Train" based on the novel by Paula Hawkins

Release Date: October 2016

Synopsis: A tense thriller following Rachel, a washed up alcoholic divorcee who becomes obsessed with a couple she see's on her daily commute, and becomes embroiled in the case when the wife suddenly goes missing.

Cast: Emily Blunt

4. "Silence" based on the novel by Shūsaku Endō

Release Date: December 2016

Synopsis: The movie will chronicle a seventeenth century Portugese priest, who is living in Japan during a time when the country’s Christian minority suffers persecution. A silent God accompanying a believer during trying times of racism, religious discrimination and illness.

Cast: Liam Neeson, Andrew Garfield and Adam Driver

5. "The Mountain Between Us" based on the novel by Charles Martin

Release Date: 2017

Synopsis: A tale about a a pair of people who become a couple surviving on a mountain after a plane crash. They are forced to trust each other and find safety while badly injured.

Cast: Idris Elba, Kate Winslet (rumored)

6. "All the Bright Places" based on the novel by Jennifer Niven

Release Date: 2017

Synopsis: A love story about a girl who learns to live from a boy who wants to die. Main character, Violet Markey, who is grieving after the recent death of her sister, meets a boy called Finch and, along the way, creates Germ Magazine.

Cast: Elle Fanning (so far)

7. "The Mob: A Woman’s Revenge" based on the novel by G. R. Holton and Marlene Mendoza

Release Date: June 2017

Synopsis: An action film in which the daughter of a mob boss, Maria, seeks revenge after seeing her father killed in cold blood on her tenth birthday. During his last breath Maria vows to avenge her father’s death.

Cast: Eric Roberts and Lena Olin

8. "Live By Night" based on the novel by Dennis Lehane

Release Date: TBA

Synopsis: A period crime-thriller about the making and unmaking of a gangster in the Prohibition Era of the Roaring Twenties.

Cast: Ben Affleck (written and directed by him as well), Elle Fanning, Zoe Saldana and Sienna Miller.

9. "Let it Snow" based on the novel by John Green, Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle

Release Date: November 2017

Synopsis: This collection of three winter-themed stories shines with the magic of the holidays. The movie will chronicle these interconnected tales of love, romance, and mistletoe kisses.

10. "Ready Player One" based on the novel by Ernest Cline

Release Date: 2018

Synopsis: When the creator of a popular video game system dies, a virtual contest is created to compete for the billions of dollars he leaves behind. Contest gamers are willing to do anything, even kill, to win.
