In the last year, I have gone through a lot of major changes in my life, from graduating high school to starting college to living on my own to having to completely start over in an unfamiliar place. When going through so many changes, it is easy to lose sight of our relationship with God and how important He is in our lives.
The following verses are some to help remind us of what should be important to us this year.
Psalm 37:7
“Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.”
2 Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
Lamentations 3:22-23
“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
Psalm 20:4
“May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.”
Isaiah 43:18-19
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
Acts 3:19-20
“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, and that he may send the Messiah, who has been appointed for you—even Jesus.”
Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

“You crown the year with your bounty, and your carts overflow with abundance.”
In 2017, I officially gave my life to Christ. This was the biggest life change I made last year, but still, there were no immediate changes in my life. I had to learn that we have to be all in with our relationships with Christ, it is a two-way street.
We can’t just turn to Him when life gets hard, we have to go to Him, when life is great and thank Him because He is the reason we have all that we do. I still have a lot to learn about myself through Christ, hopefully, this year I can build that relationship and fully know God for who He is. To fully know Him, is to experience Him in our lives every day. That is my hope for the New Year.
