10 Best Websites To Entertain Yourself While In Class

At some point in your college career (if not on the first day of classes) you will be bored out of your mind in a General Education class you literally couldn't care less about. The solution? Take out your laptop and "take notes" (aka spend the entire class period on random websites).

If the usual websites you distract yourself with are just not cutting it, here is a list of my 10 favorite websites to entertain myself while in class.

1. Facebook.com

OK so this is a pretty standard go-to website, but why does our least favorite social media become so interesting and distracting when we are in class? Especially Facebook stalking am I right? But be careful with that and make sure the person you're stalking isn't sitting behind you!

2. Stumbleupon.com

Stumbleupon is the ultimate distraction website. When registering for an account you choose from a list of 60 interests, like animals, celebrities, paranormal, tattoos/piercings, nature and so much more. Then, press "stumble" at the top of the page. Every time you press it you are given a new interesting and entertaining website based on the interests you entered. This is the perfect website for finding even more websites by which to be distracted.

3. Polyvore.com

This is the best website for online clothes shopping. Enter anything you are looking for in the search bar at the top of the website, then filter the results based on price, size, color, brand or store. I've found some of the best pieces on this website. Sorry in advance for your new addiction.

4. Buzzfeed.com/quizzes

Oh my goodness, the quizzes. Personality quizzes are basically the only entertainment you will ever need, in class or not. My personal favorite are the ones that will tell me which Taylor Swift song matches my personality. So basically the only thing I ever need to know about myself.

5. Cleverbot.com

This website is everything you want Siri to be. It's an online "robot" that will respond to your questions, like Siri, but it actually will have a conversation with you unlike the iPhone application.

6. Linerider.org/play

For the middle school boy in all of us, here is a game that will always keep you entertained. On this website, you build a track for a sledder, trying to make it complicated with loops and ramps without causing the sledder to crash and die. I know it sounds silly, but try it once and you may be addicted.

7. Mashga.me

Similar to linerider.org, this website is for the middle school girl within all of us. Remember MASH? Your favorite game to play with your BFFS at your Friday night slumber parties. Do you have any campus crushes? This is the game to tell you if that crush are your future spouse. Its totally accurate, I promise.

8. Your college's online homework website

For when you actually want to be productive in class but still don't want to listen, get your online homework done for other classes! Constructive and distracting? The perfect combo.

9. Pinterest.com

If you don't have a Pinterest account, the time has come to start one. No matter your interests or what you want to distract you, Pinterest has it. Make-up inspiration? Check. DIYs that will never look as good as they do in the pictures? Check. Crock pot cooking? Check. Basically everything that you could ever need, want, or dream of you can find it on Pinterest.

10. TheOdysseyOnline.com

And my very favorite website of all? The one you are already on, of course. With an endless array of articles from relevant news to funny and relatable lists, you'll never be bored.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
