Lately there has been a steady downpour of rain all across the east coast. It's honestly quite depressing, but some serious tunes can remedy any dreary day. These are my top go-to's for any rainy day and essentially the quite confront I seek in the middle of the storm. Grab a blanket, a book, and settle down because you are staying in for the night.
10. Make You Feel My Love by Adele
It may be cliché but it is by far the most melodic, and calming song out there- even if the lyrics make you want to cry a river of tears. Think of it this way, you will be helping the rain.
9. Budapest by George Ezra
Honestly any George Ezra song would be perfect for a rainy day, but this is one is my personal favorite. If you don’t know who George Ezra is; first you live under rock, second don’t fret- you do now.
8. I Put a Spell on You by Annie Lennox
If you recognize this song, you will understand why I think it’s fitting. If you don’t here’s hint.
Get your mind of the gutter- it’s because Seattle is pretty much always in a deluge.
7. Claire De Lune by Debussy
This is for the moments when you just want the listen to the patter of the rain. It gives you a chance to really see through the clouds.
6. Hey There Delilah by Plain White T’s
Ah, this song embodies everything that is simple and sensitive in the world. It weird how it can make you so incredibly happy, and so incredibly sad at the same time
5. You Are My Sunshine by Johnny Cash
While it may appear this is only on here for ironic purposes (which it kind of is), it’s song that unarguably gives all the feels, and can brighten up any storm.
4. Slow Dancing in a Burning Room by John Mayer
Again, kind of in here for the irony. HOWEVER, it is one of my personal favorites that honestly makes me believe in the power of the quiet, small moments.
3. Ordinary by Copeland
Copeland is just one of those artists that make you think about life without even trying. Every lyric is powerful in its own way, and each somehow connects back to every individual. The honesty is flooding.
2. Iris by Goo Goo Dolls
The perfect balance between soft and strong- if that’s even possible. This is honestly just a song that is able to evoke any feeling and can make any rain day just little bit better.
1. Dare You to Move by Switchfoot
This is my top pick because it reminds you even though it’s pouring rain, cloudy, lousy, and every dreary adjective there is. You still have the chance to do something, anything.
It doesn’t have to be rainy day for you to listen to this playlist, which can be found here:
