10 Best Restaurants In Johns Creek

There have been countless times where my mom and I have wanted to go out to eat but we both did not know where we wanted to go. Most of us have become accustomed to the same restaurants over time. With the help of Trip Advisor I have found the ten best restaurants in Johns Creek and what to order.

1. Maverick’s Cantina

Located on Medlock Bridge in the Johns Creek Walk shopping center lies Maverick’s Cantina. Maverick’s is the home to some of the best tacos out there. The tacos are unique, the chef uses different flavors to create a powerhouse taco. Not only are the tacos amazing but they have some of the best chips and salsa. If you are of age, a margarita is a must.

2. Egg Harbor

If you are looking for breakfast or brunch, Egg Harbor is your go to place. Egg Harbor is on Medlock Bridge just before you get to State Bridge. The staff at Egg Harbor are more than willing to help you with anything you need. There is a gluten free menu about two pages long for those who do not eat gluten. The pancakes are a favorite!

3. 1001 Nights Persian Cuisine

If you are looking for a taste of Middle Eastern food, 1001 Nights is about as good as it gets. 1001 Nights is on Medlock Bridge just before you get to State Bridge. Once you are seated you are greeted with warm naan and different cheeses, nuts, and lettuces to put on your naan. If you are new to Middle Eastern food kabobs are your best bet. If you are a vegetarian they have many options to accommodate you.

4. Pearl Lian

Pearl Lian has some of the best Asian food I have put in my mouth. Pearl Lian is on the corner of Medlock Bridge and Hospital Parkway. They have Chinese, Thai and Sushi. If you do not feeling like going out to eat they will deliver right to your door. My personal favorite is the Hot and Spicy beef. Pearl Lian is the go to place for Asian food.

5. Baitong Thai

If you are in the mood for Thai food head on over to Baitong Thai located on McGinnis Ferry just before you get to Medlock Bridge. Any curry you get there will be amazing. Whether you are a lover of heat or actually like to taste your food, they have a heat scale that will allow you to choose your perfect temperature. The basil rolls are a must try for an appetizer.

6. Mari’s Cucina and Social House

Mari’s is your go to for some Italian food. Located on the corner of State Bridge and Jones Bridge, Mari’s will treat you like family from the moment you walk in the door. Caprese salad or calamari are some of the best appetizers on the menu. The chicken saltimbocca is a local favorite. Chicken Parmesan is another favorite. Make sure you get some gelato for dessert.

7. Le Mekong

Another Asian favorite but this one has Vietnamese as well. Le Mekong is on the corner of Medlock Bridge and Abbotts Bridge. The wait service is more than happy to help you with anything you might need. They make sure you order the perfect thing. If you love pho, Le Mekong’s pho will exceed your expectations. Any clay pot dish will be amazing. The sizzling beef is everyone’s favorite.

8. Kathleen’s Catch

Kathleen’s is the closest you will get to fresh fish without having to travel to the beach. Kathleen’s is on the corner of State Bridge and Medlock Bridge. Kathleen’s is mainly a fish market but they have some prepared foods that you can get as well. They have a killer lobster roll.

9. Noosh Persian Kitchen

Another Persian restaurant but it is just as good as 1001 Nights. Noosh is a little bit more on the casual side whereas 1001 Nights is more dressy. Noosh is located on the corner of Jones Bridge and Douglas Road. The kabobs there are fabulous and the appetizers are quite yummy as well. Noosh is a must try.

10. Another Broken Egg

Another Broken Egg is a breakfast, brunch, and lunch favorite. Located on Medlock Bridge inside of the Johns Creek Walk shopping center, Another Broken Egg has so many options that are all so yummy. They are known for their beignets and pancakes. They offer gluten free options if you cannot eat gluten. The wait staff is very helpful and friendly.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
