10 Of The Best Moments From Parks and Rec

Lit-rally the best.

Parks and Recreation (n.): the best show to ever exist. It's got the best characters, the funniest plot, and the driest humor EVER--basically, a show that all college students need in their lives. And if you have a Netflix account (which I'm sure you do!) you can watch every episode of every season! Here's a little preview of my favorite moments on the show (not in any particular order, because I'm lazy).

1. Treat yo self

If you know any line from Parks and Rec, it's probably this one. Classic Tom and Donna move, going on a no-expense-spared shopping trip once a year.

2. Ron gets real about healthy living

And again:

SAME

3. Lit-rally

Definitely not relevant or funny if you don't watch the show. But if you do, "lit-rally" might (quite lit-rally) be part of your daily vocab.

4. April uses scare tactics with the new intern

5. Leslie has a very April-like moment

At this moment in time, Leslie is at her absolute best.

6. SNAKE JUICE

Hands down one of my favorite episodes is when everyone goes to Tom's new club and drinks a lethal drink called Snake Juice, which results in extreme drunkness.

7. Ben tells it like it is

I think that pretty much anyone in college appreciates this sentiment.

8. Donna illustrates the importance of social media in the 21st century

Donna knows that the interwebs are a beautiful thing.

9. Ron introduces a slightly weird (and hilarious) metaphor about the government

A quote that is only heightened by the fact that Ron does, in fact, work for the government.

10. And (in honor of Halloween!), April's pre-labor decision to put on monster makeup

Since I'm a huge Parks and Rec fan, it was hard for me to narrow it down to just ten moments, but these are definitely some of the best! Now get out there and watch Parks and Rec (or, if you already have, watch it again). You won't regret it.

The best superpower ever? Being invisible of course. Imagine just being able to go from seen to unseen on a dime. Who wouldn't want to have the opportunity to be invisible? Superman and Batman have nothing on being invisible with their superhero abilities. Here are some things that you could do while being invisible, because being invisible can benefit your social life too.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
