If you don't know what Hamilton is, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?? Hamilton is quite possibly one of the biggest musicals on Broadway right now. Tickets are almost impossible to get. But if you get them, they are probably a thousand dollars, and for a year from now. So, for those of us who are huge Hamilton fans, the next best thing is the original cast soundtrack. Luckily, the show is written so that it is entirely music. This allows fans to not miss any dialogue, and they can understand the whole musical just from the soundtrack. There are so many good lyrics that it was incredibly difficult to pick 10. With that being said, here are my picks for the top 10 lyrics in Hamilton.

10. "You are the worst Burr" -Lafayette (Story of Tonight Reprise)

We all agree. Burr is the worst.

9. "I will kill your friends and family, to remind you of my love" - King George (You'll Be Back)

King George is all of us. His sass is awesome. Wow.

8. "When I meet Thomas Jefferson, I'm gonna compel him to include women in the sequel. Work!" - The Schuyler Sisters (The Schuyler Sisters)

7. "You will come of age with our young nation/ We’ll bleed and fight for you, we’ll make it right for you" - Aaron Burr (Dear Theodosia)

SOOO, I don't always hate Aaron Burr and this is one of those times. Dear Theodosia brings the feels. But when you think about this line of the song, it blows your mind. The kids that were born during the revolution grew up with this country.

6. "‘Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.’ We fought for these ideals; we shouldn’t settle for less. These are wise words, enterprising men quote ‘em. Don’t act surprised, you guys, cuz I wrote ‘em." - Thomas Jefferson (Cabinet Battle #1)

I know that Thomas is kinda the bad guy in the musical, but I love him anyway.

5. "Never gonna be President now!" - Thomas Jefferson (The Reynolds Pamphlet)

Thomas Jefferson. That is all.

4. "Life doesn't discriminate between the sinners and the saints, it takes and it takes and it takes." - Aaron Burr (Wait For It)

This whole song is so moving.

3. "You built palaces out of paragraphs. You built cathedrals." - Eliza Schuyler (Burn)

I LOVE ELIZA SCHUYLER!! You go, girl!

2. "I am not throwing away my shot. Hey yo, I’m just like my country, I’m young scrappy and hungry, and I’m not throwing away my shot!" -Alexander Hamilton (My Shot)

If this isn't a pump up song, then I don't know what is.

1. "I am the one thing in life I can control. I am inimitable, I am an original. " -Aaron Burr (Wait For It)

These are some awesome words to live by. The only thing that we can control in our lives is ourselves.
