For (most) of us, especially ones who need money, seasonal jobs are a blessing. You come home, work for four weeks, then go back to school and the life you know and love. Most people may hate working a seasonal job, but there are some benefits:
1. You can be "bad" at your job, and no one yells at you. Because you're "new." "You don't get it."
2. You get to know all the work drama, but never get involved, because no one knows who you are.
3. You always get cut first, because you're the new kid.
4. You get the easiest tasks, because no one wants to take the time to explain exactly how to process a return or restock shelves.
5. Even if you absolutely hate your job, you know it's ending. Soon.
6. You're making money. So really, you can't complain.
7. Customer service. You get to see what it's like to deal with holiday shoppers. And trust me, it's eye opening. You'll walk out of that job a new person. And act a lot nicer to other retail workers.
8. You get to meet some cool people. I'm sure you'll find at least one person as miserable as you, and who knows where that could lead. A new best friend, or a new beau?
9. If you like it, they'll probably put you on the schedule when you are home again. That means more money. Again, can't complain about that.
10. You'll have some good stories to tell. Trust me.
So there you have it. Seasonal jobs might not be ideal, but they'll get you through a long winter break.
