With summer coming to a close and shelves being stocked with school supplies, it's time to start thinking about what you need for going back to school. Here are 10 essentials to make sure you pack:
1. Water Bottle: Whether it's a Lilly Pulitzer water bottle like the one here, a CamelBak, or simply a gallon jug of water, you'll be glad you have something to bring along with you to class.
2. Bluetooth Speaker: A Bluetooth sound system is essential for all party pregamers and those who like to listen to music in the morning, alike. Bluetooth makes it easier to switch songs without all the hassle. Bonus if your choice of sound system doubles as an alarm clock.
3. Cool Bedding: Bedding that you really like is essential. You're going to be underneath it a lot of the time. It's also the easiest way to liven up and decorate a small space!
4. Something That Reminds You of Home: Whether it be a picture frame of friends and loved ones, a stuffed animal, or weird trinket, something that reminds you of home will be perfect to have on those days you're missing home.
5. Lots of Organizers: Be it a shoe rack, book shelf, cosmetic organizer, jewelry stand, or decorative hook, having zero space makes storage bins essential.
6. Foldable Seating Areas: Since Res Life & Housing seemingly provides one chair for every eight people, it's nice to have extra seating areas, like futons and ottomans, when people come visit without making them sit on the floor.
7. Plush Rug: Rugs not only make a place feel more homey but also helps provide a more cozy feel to those hard floors (especially if you sit on them).
8. Good Set of Pens and Pencils: Why is it that the one thing everyone seems to forget is something to write with? Just make sure you aren't too attached because everyone will ask to "borrow" them.
9. Safety Pins: Let's be honest. You're not going to sew that button back on or repair that tiny rip. Slap a few safety pins on that top, and it's good to go.
10. Rain Boots and an Umbrella: This is without fail the most important item on the list. Attending Lake Forest, if you forget everything else, make sure you have a sturdy pair of boots to get you across the river of a campus to class.
