10 Atlanta Spots To Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth

Found yourself harboring 1 a.m. doughnut cravings or desperately seeking a frozen concoction to cool off from the scorching Hotlanta humidity? Look no further than this list of 10 Atlanta staples known for their delectable treats, complete with recommendations and locations, certain to satisfy all your sugar hankerings (and probably incite some #foodporn envy from your friends, too)!

Revolution Donuts

Sate your coffee and doughnut fix by piling up your metal tray with an array of mouth-watering flavors (orange-pistachio, Nutella cream puff, caramel bacon) in a variety of different styles- cake, yeast, low-gluten, you name it.

Where to find it: Decatur

What to get: The peach-slider, a sugar-coated, yeast-raised doughnut, cut in half, and filled with fresh sliced peaches. It's Georgia. It'd be an abomination not to get it.

Kilwins

It'll be hard enough to simply prevent yourself from walking into this candy-store of your childhood dreams, and even harder to tear yourself away empty-handed.The most insane chocolate-covered confectioneries can be found at this Atlantic station sweet-shop. So, while you holiday shop for others, treat yo'self too.

Where to find it: Atlantic Station

What to get: A caramel apple, obviously. Now to settle on which toppings: Turtle Caramel, Apple Pie, Dark Chocolate Sea Salt, M&M's, Oreos, Reese's Cups...

Sweet Hut

Sweet Hut is an Asian bakery brimming with decisions, decisions. Go savory with a panini or pork pastry, or bite into something sweet, like a fruit tart or a taro mochi-filled puff. The beverage menu won't disappoint either; find all of your classic coffeehouse favorites, plus milk tea and Vietnamese-style iced coffee.

Where to find it: Midtown and Bufurd Highway

What to get: A matcha doughnut and bubble tea

Cafe Intermezzo

This old Europe, classical music-inspired restaurant is a must-visit in Atlanta. Don't be toooo overwhelmed by the extensive drink menu. Everything is good, and heads up to the college students whose wallet's might be feeling a bit lighter after eating here: the cake slices are big enough and rich enough to split!

Where to find it: Midtown and Dunwoody, and also Hartsfield Jackson if you need a sip of A-Town before jet-setting

What to get: This one's tough- any hot chocolate or coffee, sorbet, or their tiramisu!

Bon Glaze

This brightly-colored gourmet doughnut spot offers a variety of unexpected flavors (peep the one with the mass of cotton candy piled on top), in addition to bon bons, liege waffles, and candied bacon.

Where to find it: Brookhaven

What to get: Candied cayenne bacon

Georgetown Cupcake

Finally! You don't have to travel to DC for these world-famous snack-sized cakes.

Where to find it: The Shops Buckhead

What to get: The salted caramel cupcake is one of their best-sellers

Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams

While not an Atlanta business-native, Jeni's is worth the hype. High quality ingredients come together to form incredible flavors like Wildberry Lavender, Riesling Poached Pear Sorbet, and Black Cat Espresso, made with Intelligentsia coffee. Don't forget to ask for a sample or two if you can't decide!

Where to find it: Westside Provisions and Krog Street Market

What to get: Anything, just make it a double-scoop because you'll regret not having more!

Sublime

Sublime is well, sublime. Their yeast-based doughnuts are super soft, and super sweet, and even more- they're open 24 hours. You're welcome.

Where to find it: 10th St NW (near Georgia Tech) and North Druid Hills

What to get: A Reese's Peanut Butter Cup and an A-Town Cream

8 Fahrenheit

You've seen all the Instagram pics, the viral food-making videos fluttering around your Facebook feed. Now cave in and try rolled ice-cream for yourself. (Psst, if you're not feeling the price, you can totally split one of these cups with a friend.)

Where to find it: Buford Highway

What to get: Matcha ice-cream with strawberries and a toasted marshmallow

King of Pops

A frozen bar from King of Pops is about as synonymous to refreshing as those ice-cold Coca-Cola x Six Flags ads that pop up every spring. If sticky Popsicle hands sound too juvenile for you (bah humbug), some locations, like Ponce City Market, will mix up the perfect boozy cocktail (poptail?) for you. Cheers!

Where to find it: Almost every Atlanta grocery and convenient store, coffee-shop, and farmers market will have these stocked. In the warmer months, you're likely to find pop-up carts around town, too! Check the map for specific locations.

What to get: Feeling something fresh and fruity? Spring for the uber refreshing Raspberry Lime or Blackberry Ginger Lemonade. Needing something more creamy and decadent? Try thai iced tea, or one of their most famous, the Chocolate Sea Salt.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
