11 Annoying Things I Hate That Happen When Using Technology

When using technology on a daily basis, these things ALWAYS happen.

1. Annoying app updates

Updates that change how the smartphone app looks in general (Ahem! Instagram. *cough *cough) or the user interface when you open it (Snapchat. *cough *cough). I don’t want to be confused the next time I open any of my favorite apps that I use on a daily basis. What is the send button? How do I see my recent snaps? Please app developers, do not confuse us anymore. Sincerely, the consumer.

2. Jumping to conclusions about a person’s whereabouts in a group chat

Why is it that if you leave a group chat, your friends immediately assume for no reason you disappeared off the face of the earth? Last weekend, I was making plans with friends for later that evening and accidentally walked away from my phone for 30 minutes and they automatically assumed the worst. They thought I died. Seriously guys? Can’t you figure it out yourselves? I have other things to do in the meantime. Next time I’ll give you all a warning before I leave.

3. I hate hashtags.

No explanation necessary.

4. Horrible battery life for smartphone and computers

I don’t appreciate having to carry around an extra battery to charge my phone, and it’s not like there are enough outlets in the common area to charge laptops. It is 2016. Engineers should have figured out how to make lithium ion batteries last longer by now. It’s not that hard. If we can call people on the other side of the world, our phones and laptops should last longer than 7 hours.

5. Overused Snapchat filters

The dog face was cute the first time. Not so much anymore.

6. When smartphones die for no reason

See #4 above. I was trying to read my Facebook Timeline! At least give me a warning before you turn off next time.

7. When multiple email notifications end up in your notification tray at the same time

I didn’t need to see all at one time.

8. YouTube ads

I was trying to watch a funny video. Please don’t interrupt my concentration and distract me.

9. When YouTube stops playing music after you close the phone app

How rude. The song wasn’t finished yet! I wish I had the original YouTube app. Thanks YouTube Red. #Marketing.

10. Blurry selfies

Why is my front facing camera not as clear as my back camera? #Firstworldprobs.

11. When someone doesn’t text you back immediately

I am waiting so patiently over here… 30 seconds later. Still waiting…

This list could go on and on because there are countless more examples I could think of. Here are a few that came to mind as I waited for Microsoft Word to load. I hope none of my readers are annoyed by technology like I am.
