Living in a Greek house can be tough for introverts, but even the shyest girls can love this experience. Living in the sorority is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, don't pass it up.
Why living in is better than it may seem. If you asked me a month ago how I felt about living in, my answer would be completely different than what it is right now. I honestly love living in the sorority house. I thought it was going to be annoying, exhausting, and miserable. I should’ve gone into it with a more open mind, because I couldn’t imagine this year without living in.Now don’t get me wrong- I wasn’t miserable the first few days of living in, I was just incredibly overwhelmed because I was constantly surrounded by girls during work week and recruitment. Luckily, that’s changed a little bit. I always have someone to hang out with if I want to, but I also have the power to escape for a few hours and be alone. I am more of an introvert, so work week and recruitment freaked me out about the whole living in situation because I thought it was going to be that crazy all year round. Thankfully, it’s not.
The great thing about living in is how much closer my pledge class has gotten. I’ve talked to girls that I thought I never would, because my sorority has so many different personalities and it’s diffiuclt to get to know everyone. But living in definitely changes things. There’s always someone to grab frozen yogurt with, study with, or go on random adventures with. I’m really thankful that I live in, because these past few weeks have been fantastic. I didn’t really have “FOMO,” (Fear Of Missing Out), until I lived in. But now, because I am so close with everyone, I never want to leave them. I didn’t ever think I would love living in as much as I do. I am so excited to see how the rest of the year pans out, and I plan on enjoying every single minute of it. If you have the opportunity to live in, DO IT!
