There is a new "Baywatch" movie coming out in 2017 ... but that's not even the best part. Drum roll, please. Zac Efron will be starring in it! Tight red bathing suits, running in slow motion and muscles for days. More like "Baewatch." Sorry for the pun, I had to.
Anyone who knows me knows that Zac has been my #1 love since "High School Musical" hit in 2006. I'm almost 22 years old and I'm not at all ashamed to say that I have had the same Efron poster in my room since I was 15. It's his Rolling Stone cover, which I'm positive you're all familiar with. For those of you who don't know, first of all, shame on you and secondly, let me show you what you've been missing:
IMDb has the posted the release date for "Baywatch" as May 17, 2017. I have two questions.
1. Why is the release date so far away?
2. How early do tickets go on sale?
Zac already had a good body (I'm being modest) but Business Insider reported that he's been going through a rigorous training and dieting process with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who will also be starring in the movie, in order to get the body necessary for the movie (as if his body previously wasn't good enough). He's taken to Instagram and Twitter to show his followers and fans.
Zac tweeted that after nine days of a super strict (and super boring) diet of what he could eat (zero carbs and sugar, only organic protein and "leafy greens"), he finally had a cheat day. And by "cheat," I mean he ate foods that the average person eats on a pretty regular basis, like steak, potatoes, macaroni and cheese and bread and butter.
I'll gladly share with you some of Zac's social media posts so you can see for yourself what his new physique looks like. Part of me wonders if his new body is a bit too macho and a bit more body builder, but at the same time, it's Zac Efron so who cares — I'm swooning anyway. I'm sure Troy Bolton would be proud.
Am I ready for the premiere of "Baywatch"? Abs-solutely.
