YouTube has always been a safe space where I can go if I ever need to feel better. The first type of content that I found (and my favorite kind to watch) was comedy videos. I'm not talking about comedians who upload their sets to YouTube, nor the late-night hosts who have an obligation to upload segments from their shows.

I'm talking about creators who make their own content for the sake of their viewers or, in Jenna Marbles' case, for the sake of 'Me Time'. Here are five YouTubers to watch if you ever need a good laugh.

1. Jenna Marbles

Jenna Marbles is the first YouTuber I discovered on my own when she created rant videos in her bedroom. Now, she's created videos like Blending In With My Green Screen, Prank Calling In Sick From Jobs I Don't Have, Making Terrible Hot Glue Crafts, and Putting On 200 Fake Nails On One Nail. She also does absurd beauty videos in the quest to become a "Beautuber" like Giving Myself Eyelash Extensions, Come Do Terrible Things To My Hair With Me, and Giving Myself A Set of Acrylic Nails.

Her boyfriend Julian who is equally as funny frequently appears in her videos and is the target of many of her antics such as Making My Boyfriend a Romphim, Giving My Man the Hair He Deserves, and Giving My Boyfriend Acrylic Nails. She's hilarious and amazing and if you aren't already watching her, you should be! Her channel is here: https://www.youtube.com/user/JennaMarbles/videos

2. Drew Gooden

Remember the infamous 'Road Work Ahead' Vine? Well, that's Drew! Once the app shut down, Drew turned his attention to YouTube, creating videos like I Joined Team 10 So You Don't Have To, Life Hacks Are Only Getting Worse, and Why Is YouTube Music So Bad? He points out the hypocrisy on YouTube and honestly, he and Danny Gonzalez are the only reason why I know about the awful side of YouTube.

If you love sarcastic humor, you should go watch his stuff. His channel is here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTSRIY3GLFYIpkR2Q...

3. Danny Gonzalez

Everyone thinks that Danny Gonzalez and Drew Gooden are the same person, which is understandable because if you like/watch one, you probably like/watch the other. They have the same kind of humor! Some of my favorite videos from Danny are Trying Troom Troom's Awful Pranks, Bad Instagram: Conspiracy Theories, The Horrible Truth About Musical.ly, and Jake Paul's New Song Ruined My Day.

Like Drew, I wouldn't know about all of the truly awful content that's out there without Danny. His sarcasm is enough to put a smile on my face and I think he deserves more recognition than he gets. Go watch Danny here: https://www.youtube.com/user/ActualDannyGonzalez/v...

4. Cody Ko

Cody Ko is like Drew Gooden and Danny Gonzalez on crack. He and his friend Noel have a few video series together like That's Cringe, F**k This Guy, and playing the game Love Island. Cody also is a former Viner and is quick to call out creepiness on the internet.

My favorite series by far is That's Cringe. He and Noel rip apart things they deem as cringe-worthy and their reactions are priceless. He's laugh-out-loud hilarious and I truly enjoy the time I spend watching videos on his channel. Check him out here: https://www.youtube.com/user/codyko69/videos

5. Alex Meyers

Alex Meyers is a different kind of comedy. He watches shows like Riverdale, Vampire Diaries, The Secret Life of the American Teenager, and Shadowhunters and then comments on them using the animations you see above. He also watches cheesy movies like every High School Musical, To All The Boys I've Loved Before, The Kissing Booth, and Sierra Burgess is a Loser.

Hearing his perspective and his critique of shows and movies is so damn funny that many of his videos leave me rolling on the floor laughing. And honestly, his animation is fantastic as well. Watch Alex here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCY6Ij8zOds0WJEeqC...

Scarred

One of the darkest moments in my family's life.

I knew this day was coming when my mother’s decided to get spinal surgery. February 20, was the date her surgery was set. It was a normal day in school when I received the message of a lifetime. My oldest sibling telling me our mother’s surgery went wrong. Imagining what could possibly go wrong made my eyes water. Felt like I was the only person on my bus. Everything was silence and my mind was racing. There was never a positive thought in my head. Taking the last step off the bus and the first step onto the porch, everything was real.

SO, I've just recently had the fortunate experience to be reminded just how Michigan rains. Now, before you roll your eyes at me, I HAVE EXPERIENCED RAIN (in regards of the the popular joke that Californians haven't). However, I have to agree; after experiencing one of Michigan's thunderstorms (with my college's sirens blaring in the background), it comes to mind just how different "rain" is between the two states:

If you have been following me for a long time, then you know I write about two main things: relateable articles and communication media based articles. Now, it is time for me to combine the two. For those of you that don't know, I am a radio DJ at IUP, and I DJ for a show called BPM (Beats Per Minute). It is an EDM, or electronic dance music, based show and I absolutely love it.

6 Things Owning A Cat Has Taught Me

Owning a pet can get difficult and expensive. Sometimes, their vet bills cost hundreds of dollars just for one visit. On top of that, pets also need food, a wee wee pad for a dog, a litter box with litter for a cat, toys, and treats. Besides having to spend hundreds of dollars on them, they provide a great companion and are almost always there when you need to talk to someone. For the past six years, I have been the proud owner of my purebred Bengal cat named Spock. Although he's only seven years and four months old, he's taught me so much. Here's a few of the things that he has taught me.
