We watched them during our lunch breaks and on bus rides home from school. We learned all of the words and sang along when applicable. We sent each other links via AIM whenever we found a new video. We laughed, we cringed, we made reference to them in our day to day lives. Our parents accused us of having poor taste in entertainment.
Here are seven YouTube videos millennials have grown up with.
1. Charlie The Unicorn (2006)
During the period of teenage angst, we all related to Charlie and his disgust with anything nonsensical.
2. Shoes (2007)
“Kelly, what are you going to do with your life?”
“I’m going to get what I want.”
She might have had an unhealthy obsession with shoes, but you've got to admire her ambition and drive.
3. Muffins (2007)
Everyone wanted to try the choco-choco-chip muffin.
4. The Gummy Bear Song (2007)
Probably one of the most annoying songs to ever exist, but it sure is catchy.
Also, who takes three bites to eat a gummy bear?
5. Where's The Chapstick?!? (2007)
Spoiler Alert: She finds the chapstick.
6. Bed Intruder Song (2010)
You probably had the song downloaded on your iPod Nano.
7. Ain't Nobody Got Time For That (2012)
PSA: Inhaling smoke gives you bronchitis.
But seriously... why can't all news broadcasts be set to autotune?
