You're Basic And It's Your Fault

We often get caught up in the hustle and bustle of what we think it's like working a regular degular smegular nine to five living paycheck to paycheck - doing what society calls the "right thing" but in reality you are dying inside because guess what... you're basic. You're average, and you're living a mediocre life.

What I want you to understand is God made you to live an above average life, a life that makes nonbelievers question every single move you make. You were designed to break the mold, not follow the process of your family/environment, to be a leader. You were created to do more than what your circumstances may be telling you at this very moment.

I need you to understand the strength that lies inside of you,

"The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you." Romans 8:11

Not only do you possess the strength of God inside of you. You possess the strength to overcome every obstacle, to win every battle and to loosen every chain of oppression that the enemy is trying to place on your life to stop you from being who you were destined to be.

You are responsible for whether you fail or win. You are responsible for either living a basic life or exceeding every NO that has been told to you. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE for your happiness.

I just want you to understand, that you are living outside of the door that holds everything that you know you deserve. You are living around the life you want to live, stop circling your dreams and run directly into them.

I understand where you may be and everything that I am telling you just may be foreign. It may sound like it's entirely too good to be true, but to quote the living God, the second part of Malachi 3:10 reads...

"...Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it."

Try Him, He is waiting to prove to you that it is possible and the only thing that is impossible for God is NOTHING.

So, I challenge you, too take back everything the enemy has stolen from you because everything he has stolen he owes you 7x. I declare your peace and bravery to be issued back to you under the authority of Heaven. I release your joy and strength to return to you in the name of Jesus.

Allow the same spirit of faith that has even pulled me out of situations I never knew had an exit, that brought value, wisdom, and understanding back in my life too manifest into yours...

"Because this vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed" Habakkuk 2:3

Embrace the unsafe, take a risk, step out on the word of God and you will NOT fail. Write out your goals without forgetting a few reminders, and begin to prepare for the rest of your life!

I love you guys so much,

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
