10 Things Girls Must Do In The Fall, Even If They Do Nothing Else

My absolute favorite season is upon us, folks! Fall is here and it's the most wonderful time of the year. It's time to make your bucket list of must-do fall activities.

Wake up and smell the crisp fall air; it's time to break out your sweaters and all things pumpkin spice because it's FALL!

1. Break out your fabulous fall outfits.

Sweaters, leggings and scarves, oh my! Pull out your favorite new boots and jackets. There's nothing that I love more than an adorable fall outfit. I love walking through campus and seeing everyone dressed up in their outfits. I also love getting to wear some of the comfiest things in my closet. I love wearing my fall accessories and also getting that fall haircut to match your outfits and fall vibes.

2. Watch your favorite Halloween movies or your favorite scary movie.

I love hosting a movie night with all of my friends and watching our favorite Halloween films. Even though scary movies really rock my world, there's nothing better than sitting down and watching my personal favorite like "Twitches."

3. Go for a walk through the park or on your favorite trail.

Nothing is better than living in Connecticut during the fall season. I love driving down the Merit Parkway and being able to see all the bright colored leaves on the trees. Another favorite activity of mine is walking through the park and being outside. I love to breathe in the crisp cool air and listen to the sounds of the leaves crunching underneath my favorite pair of boots.

4. Go to a pumpkin patch.

Going to the pumpkin patch is one of my all time favorite family traditions. I look back on every year and it's something that I'll always treasure. There was nothing better than going to the pumpkin patch and picking out the biggest pumpkin that I could find and making my dad carry it for me. (Thank you, Dad! That was probably torture.)

5. Take a haunted hay ride or better yet, go to a Haunted House.

Well, this activity is not one of my favorites, but it's something that I try to make myself do. It's important to step outside of your comfort zone every once in a while. While it is fun to go with your friends and to make yourself jump a couple times, I did not enjoy the clowns chasing me afterwords. (Thank you, Kailey for keeping me safe.)

6. Go apple picking.

A must do activity is apple picking, which is another one of my favorite traditions. I will always think back to going apple picking with my grandparents. There was no greater joy than climbing up the tree to find the biggest, most delicious apple.

7. Eat fall food, drink pumpkin spice and be merry.

Go to Starbucks and treat yourself to something pumpkin spice; it's amazing and I'm absolutely addicted. Also, it's apple cider season! Nothing is better than a nice cold cup of cider; it just feels so fall. Nothing makes me more happy than fall food, like the hearty soups. Also, I have an unhealthy addiction to apple pie and apple crisp. Enjoy it while you can, so go out and treat yourself.

8. Bake a pie.

There's nothing better than the smell of a freshly baked apple pie. I love baking pies during the fall. The aroma of cinnamon and apples baking into a golden delicious pie makes my mouth water just thinking about it.

9. Carve a pumpkin.

Another tradition that my family does every year is extreme pumpkin carving. Let me tell you, it gets intense. Every year after my family goes to the pumpkin patch, we all meet at my house and carve our pumpkins together. Everyone picks out a design and we all keep them a secret. Then, we spend hours carving and we reveal them to each other. It's always a good time and something that I look forward to every year.

10. Be thankful.

I think the fall season really brings out the best in everyone. It's a time of tradition and a time to be thankful. Thanksgiving is also a part of fall. Try to take the time in your life to be thankful for all of your blessings, your family and your friends. It's also important to give back and help others.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
