You Only Get One

You only get one life. Live it.

You Only Get One

I believe that sometimes we think we are invincible. That we think that this life will never end. Until one day we something happens, and we realize that we are not invincible and life on Earth is not eternal. Our time in this world is limited and a tomorrow is never guaranteed. Every single moment, every single day is a gift, and it is up to you how you spend it.

There is one motto no matter how bad or how good the time seems to be that I try to live by. That is, "Smile often, love deeply, and always be kind." I think we get lost in our day to day lives and forget the simple things. The things that make us laugh and smile, appreciate all that we love in this life, and to treat others kindly.

Like I said, we are never guaranteed a tomorrow. So, tell that person you love them, call your grandparents, take that chance, and be happy. We should look back and not be scared for the end but welcome a close in an amazing story welcoming what comes next. We do not get enough time to spend it being anything but happy.

Live your life in a way that when you're gone you can smile at the way someone remembers you. Even if it seems like the smallest thing. The smallest things are sometimes what means the most to us. Remember to not overlook them, because you will have days that the best thing that happened was the song you like coming on the radio on your way home.

This is it. We get this one life. Find peace with knowing that there may be no tomorrow. Do not fear the end because the end is inevitable but enjoy every moment of every day you are blessed with. Because in the end you are the one who has to deal with the story that you have written.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
