You Never Know What You're Missing Until You Do It

Taking that first step into something new or different is a path that a lot of people struggle to go down. The struggle to take that first step usually means that you lean towards comfort and what you know. Being kept in a bubble might seem safe and reliable but think deeply about that, are you happy? Did you sacrifice your happiness for the brief feelings of safety and routine? Is where you are in your life where you want to be? Are you where you want to be?

Safety is important, and so is being comfortable, but letting factors like those keep you from experiencing life isn’t what you should be doing. Don’t feel left out and excluded; instead, take that bold move of going to that event you heard about or taking a class that peaked your interest even though it doesn’t relate to your primary studies. Step out of your comfort zone just a smidge so you can look beyond routine and experience the opportunities you have.

You should also acknowledge if you are unhappy and go after the factors that are making you unhappy. Do you hate your classes? Think about changing your major or look deeper into your future classes descriptions. Do you not like being around certain people? Remove the toxic people from your life that are causing you heartache. Do you not like where you are or where you are going to school? Look into your options and think about what you want and where you want to do it. Where you are just might not be the right place for you even if you originally thought it was. You never know until you experience it.

Changing things shows us all the possibilities that you might be currently missing out on. You know yourself better than anyone else does so you, deep down in your heart, truly know what will make you happy. Don’t ignore the signs that lead to your happiness, take them into account and make the choice that is the best for you and your dreams.

Sure, there will be the regret and worries about making the right decision. Having that doubt is just part of being human, but it also tells you where your heart is. You might be leaving behind the safety of comfort, but you also might be missing out on great experiences and happiness if you don’t take that step forward into whatever it is that you are holding yourself back on. Let yourself free to enjoy the joys of life through taking the steps you need to to have your heart happy.

Don’t let yourself miss out on things. They might be small things like going out to dinner or lunch with people or large things like deciding to change your life in a big way. Take that leap of faith because you never know what you’re missing out on until it’s too late. Do what’s best for you, not anyone else, just you.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
