You Make Me Love Sundays

And not like I wrote.

You Make Me Love Sundays
Anastasia Owen

You make me love Sundays.

The Sundays that used to steal my throat,
Bruise my arms until I choked.
This Sunday is different.
And not like I wrote

This Sunday fell asleep amongst blankets of clouds, sunlights blinking into my soul.
I tasted some rest, as it should be.
Saw sleep as it is very clearly.

On this day I woke to a nightmare
That turned to a flower of peace in your arms
Caught sight of different days
Against those alarmed.

Today I fluttered my eyes
The birds stayed lovingly silent.
This Sunday, "I miss me", I still breathe.
"It'll be ok", her peace breathes so violent.

It shakes, quakes, our souls partake
On an endless road
Much at stake
Much that rakes
Across these minds, these hearts do quake
And our souls, they ache

"It'll be fine, one day", I stay awake.
I glance through blue till the stars
Appear in the moon just as they are
As if they are but one, and I know they are not
"You make me swoon."
No they can't be one, I haven't forgot.

For as you and I
Are as different as the seas
Yes you and me
Like the grass and the trees
And the weeds and the clouds
And the calls and the howls
Yes different fits
Like you and me

And my fear, it flakes
And it makes us shake
And my arms you take
And my brevity you stake
In an endless quake,
Yes an endless quake...
And in the sun, I wake.
In the sun we ache.

But you make me love Sunday's, I think.

Curious, it is
What a road we take
When the waves they break
Against my heart a lake
It fills and I shake
It stills and I shake
Yes my soul it quakes
Yes my eyes it takes

And so "I miss me," I still breathe.
But "We'll make it ok", she sees.

"We'll find it again
Round the bend
We'll turn over backwards mix and mend
Twist and flip
For doves we'll send

And I'll be here, we'll be here...
We'll be here, our fear will fear
And fear itself, and hate it's gate
Come crashing down under minds who quake
With their peace and their dreams and their seas that shake
All that's hurt to its core
In your arms, till the end
In difference arms, worlds to mend.
Yes the seas we'll shake
"We'll city to the seas."
Yes the world, we'll quake.
Yes the world we'll quake.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
