Something I hear all the time now, is that it's okay to to be alone. Stand tall by yourself.
"You don't need anyone."
For some people that is their life motto. They are more then happy by themselves, and that is great. I can't help but think about those people that are alone and don't want to be. Like me they don't believe that they should be okay alone. I am here to tell you that you don't have to be okay alone. You're allowed to depend on others, you're allowed to to want a shoulder to cry on. You don't have to walk this life alone.
There is verse after verse in the Bible about friendship. We created to strive in community.
People learn from one another, just as iron sharpens iron. (Proverbs 27:17)And so encourage one another and help one another, just as you are now doing. (1 Thessalonians 5:11)For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them." (Mathew 18:20)
God wants us to join together and support one another. 1 Corinthians 12 says
"14For the body does not consist of one part, but of many. 15If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. 16And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. 17If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be?
18But in fact, God has arranged the members of the body, every one of them, according to His design. 19If they were all one part, where would the body be? 20As it is, there are many parts, but one body."
You don't have to be content alone, you don't have to settle for the life you think you deserve. God wants so much more for you. Trust in his will that he will bring you the right friendships at the right time and he will. You may be in a dry spout, feeling alone. Seek after the Lord first and he will seek after you. He is your biggest supporter and he is always there in your corner fighting for you. Satan has a funny way of making you think you deserve to be alone, and that you should be strong enough to walk alone not depending on anyone. God says the opposite, you're stronger because you can stand in union with others.
Don't loose faith my friend, God is always working and an adventure is always waiting while you're praying. He will bring the right people into your life, until he opens the door- pray in the hallway.
